Spooky Boo-tique Party & Classic Disney Halloween Haunts

Every last Friday of the month, Pinup Girl Boutique hosts Ladies Night Out. This is where we stay open until 9pm, have food trucks, drinks and a DJ to entertain guests as they enjoy our make-up demos at the beauty bar and special store-wide savings.

Since everyone at Pinup are Halloween enthusiasts, we knew we needed to make our Ladies Night this month a Halloween theme. It was a total success! Everyone came dressed in their amazing costumes (most handmade!!!), we handed out candy to…

Hollywood's Horror Houses Just in Time for Halloween

Today I went on an adventure with the boyfriend! I decided since I live in the Hollywood area I might as well take advantage of the fact that most of the famous houses of horror from my favorite movies are just down the street!

So I hit up my favorite three, first up the Doyle house from Halloween 1978 (where all the action happened) and the Wallace house…

Petite Pinup - Shorter Styles for Your Closet

So often I see girls post about us making petite sizing, but we actually carry several styles that work great for our little ladies. Though any of our styles can be easily hemmed to fall at a flattering length, these styles will not need a stitch! I find it helpful to look at the models stats on the lower left side of the image, it helps me to know the length the dress will be on myself.…

I have discovered my style

I have only just recently discovered the joys of PUG style and have totally fallen in love with the whole look. I want to update my look, style etc but at the moment lack the confidence to be daring, cause where I live jean shorts, thongs and t-shirts are the go.

The Christina Dress - The Dress for any Office

So often we see images of eloquent and powerful females in the office, yet many of us are not suit wearing girls. The answer is clear, we need more office wear.

Designer Laura Byrnes had this in mind when she drew up the Christina dress on one of her many sketch pads. Keeping the fabric, firm yet comfortable we choose a fan favorite and made the dress in Stretch Sateen, the same fabric used for the Vamp dress, and Birdie dresses. …

Favorite Things - Trashy Diva

Here at Pinup Girl we collect all of our favorite brands and things to share with all of you. One of our favorite brands is Trashy Diva, they are based in New Orleans and take their heavy inspiration from the 1940's. Originally they made most of their dresses in silk, but have expanded their products to rayon and cotton blends over the years. …

Vintage Home Makeover

Hey Ladies!

Thought I'd post a blog about something I'm most passionate about, Vintage furniture and home makeovers ( hopefully theres some nerdy antique collectors out there like myself!) .

I always seem to be in homes that have some original charm... but the some disastrous modern additions.

My previous home in Minnesota I completely re-hauled!!! It was a total frankenstein house. But with enough paint, sparkle, and old junk it ended up pretty nice. ( If you want, I'll…

Took my Pinup Girl clothing to Bermuda and had the time of my life!

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from a fabulous cruise to Bermuda.  I hadn't had a real vacation for many years and it was much needed.

I work in a rough, dirty, industrial printing facility.  Most of my co-workers are ex-convicts and tough guys from the street.  The work is hard & stressful.  The atmosphere is ugly and depressing, but the pay is very good so I try not to complain too much.  However, I have little opportunity in my normal, daily life to wear pretty dresses or…

Review: Heidi Dress in Red Floral

I am absolutely obsessed with the Heidi dress. I was at Pinup Boutique and the lovely Micheline Pitt suggested that I try on the Heidi dress in cherries. I've never owned a cherries dress before so I was a bit apprehensive, but the fit is FANTASTIC and I was immediately sold.

As soon as I saw that the Heidi dress would be available in Red Floral I knew it had to be mine. It's exclusively available in just a few stores, so I ordered mine from Canada (…
