Review of the Rock Rebel Leopard Bow Makeup Bag

When I first saw the Rock Rebel Leopard Bow Bag in the PUG Store I knew I had to have it, despite already having a serviceable makeup bag. This one was adorable, and while both the Frankenstein and the Leopard were cute, I'm a leopard gal, so that's the one I bought.

I did purchase it during the Black Friday Sale in…

Many of you will recall the rebuke Andy Sachs(Anne Hathaway) earns in the film The Devil Wears Prada from her boss Miranda Priestly(Meryl Streep) about the route taken by cerulean from when Oscar de la Renta presented his first collection in that color until much later, when it appeared as the reason’s color in department stores all over the world, representing millions of dollars to the fashion industry. It’s a vain discourse, but a truly admirable one because of the great amount of…

PUG and Respect from Others

Since I have started dressing in the PUG/Vintage style again I have noticed something: People treat me with more respect.  Now, I do not mean to indicate that people were disrespecting me before.  It's more that now people do little things that they didn't do before, like holding open the doors, bowing (weird at first, but I'm get used to it), and using honorifics (ma'am, Ms., etc).

I have also noticed that the compliments that I get are different.  Rather than some cheesy lines…

Becoming a dress girl

If you were to ask anyone who has known me for longer than 2 minutes they would tell you that I am not really a dress girl. I live in jeans, which isn't too unusual considering that this is the 21st century. As a California girl I have the luxury of wearing sandals, shorts and tank tops almost all year long. We really do have some fabulous weather. Now I have loved the pinup girl style since I was a teenager. However I always…

Cicada Time

As some of you may know by now, I have put together a few meet up events here in the LA area over the last year and a half or so. It is just part of my nature to try to be an organizer. And in fact it is part of my professional training. But I digress. But I must admit that it is partly due to one very selfish reason that I put these things together. And that is that I want to meet and connect as friends with other pinup women. None of the things I've put together have had…

My Winter Underground Pin Up Look

As you all know from my genesis blog I am extremely interested in pin-up/retro looks and lifestyles ( However I have recently found myself in a style slump. Although I tend to wear a lot of retro inspired outfits I am finding that the aesthetics is becoming too generic....

So for this winter I have been warping my usual looks with a 90s and…

Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout My Best Friend.... Jenny! (A Post About How I'm Obsessed With the Jenny Skirt)

So, I've been getting a lot of questions about my petticoats lately on my personal blog, Junebugs and Georgia Peaches, and my instagram regarding how I'm able to get the skirts of the pieces I wear so "full."  I even had a couple of girls accuse me of holding out of them, I would never! haha.  After working on my outfit round-up blog post for the…

Why You’re Ready for a High Waisted Summer: A Review of the Vamp 2-Piece Swimsuit in Zebra Print

Hello guys, it’s me Tahitia again and I’m here to talk to you about why you’re ready to rock a high waisted bikini this summer even if you don’t know it yet.

In fact here’s something that you might not know, despite what comes to mind when you hear the name “bikini”, a true bikini doesn’t have to be limited to the “bikini panty” or “string bikini bottoms” as beauty & fashion magazines & television would have you believe. In fact just googling the likes…

The Mid-Century Egyptian Craze

As any vintage collector can tell you, mid-century fashion often times takes inspirations from different cultures. We have Mexican circle skirts, Hawaiian/Polynesian print clothing, western wear and various novelty prints that depict scenes from all over the world.…

The Politics of Pin Up And the Image of Femininity

The other day I got the "why do you dress like that?" question.

Normally, most of us are used to getting that question - being head-to-toe vintage is not a mainstream fashion choice and it piques attention when someone outside of the scene encounters it. One of the reasons why (I think) it's such a confidence booster to dress this way is because it is different and it is sexy and wearing this clothing is almost an armor - it's one of those things we know more about…

Dapper Day Spring 2014

Dapper Day Spring 2014 in Orlando just so happened to fall on my 25th birthday! It was the perfect way to spend the day for me. I wore my PUG Birdie dress which I chose and purchased specifically for the occasion! I am completely obsessed with this dress.

It was really, truly my favorite birthday thus far. I can't deny that I do love attention and I certainly got a lot of it yesterday. I can't even count how many times I was stopped by people asking to take my picture. My favorite…

Review of the Bridgette Dress

Back in November I purchased a Bridgette dress from PUG and I sent it to my mom for shipping convenience reasons.

I finally received it this week after several months of it accompanying her to and from work while she forgot to drive the post office. Which is fine because she did actually send it... and good things come to those who wait.

Now, to the review.

I purchased a size up following the advice from a lady who owns one in teal, she usually wears a size…

Every Girl Wants to be a Mermaid

I'm not sure if I should be blaming Disney or Darryl Hannah in Splash, but for as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mermaid. I would even put pool rings around my ankles to keep them together while swimming, and my mother would always check for gills behind my ears! Now as an adult, I still find myself entranced with mermaids and it has even translated over into my clothes a tiny…

LUCK OF THE STYLISH : St. Patrick's Day Chic

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, I've put together another style board/wishlist with some of my favorite beauty and fashion looks inspired by the holiday.

If you are mad for plaid like me, you will lose your mind over these beautiful taffeta designs from the Laura Byrnes California collection. Mix and match these pieces or wear on their own for tasteful tartan year round. I recently wore the…

A Proposal in PUG

This is another post from my Personal Blog, Junebugs and Georgia Peaches but I don't know how many of my readers there are as in love with PUG as I am, and I know you ladies are!  This is a little story of my wait for the Neverland dress and what happened the first time I just so happened to wear it.  I think it's my lucky dress!…
