Custom Made Vintage Inspired Lingerie from Ohhh Lulu

Ohhh Lulu is a brand that has been on my radar for quite some time.  Unfortunately for me, I was under the impression that Sarah’s wonderful underthings wouldn’t work for my full bust.  That was until I saw some pictures on her site that clearly featured a larger chested woman.  Curious I contacted Sara and asked if she could make a set in my size.  Sarah agreed under the condition that she could not offer her regular fit guarantee since she has never made…

PUG renewed my confidence, and made me fall in love with my body.

I'm currently working on a post for my personal blog so for mini reviews and more exposition go to www.tulipnoireblog.wordpress.com on Friday!  I really thought that I should post this part here first because Pinup Girl Style has been a big part of helping me get to the point I'm at today. <3
Like many other die hard pug fans my first encounter with pug was when my body…

Vanity - Summer Is Rubbish

Let's all acknowledge that it's ridiculously terribly hot as of late, shall we? And if you're in Utah like me, it's been humid as well, which means we've all been in misery. 80 degrees in my house with the swamp cooler on full blast and the fan going? That's just cruel (cruel summer).

So now that we've gotten that out of the way, it's safe to assume that you won't judge me when I tell you that besides when I'm at work or out running errands, I haven't been wearing makeup or doing…

How high do I get and how low do I go ?

That is to say how high brow do I get and how low brow do I go . Being born and an early childhood in NYC yet growing up in Pa country I think I got a varied exposure of ' brows ' . I find it interesting that I am drawn to this 'pin up ' culture ' which seems to me as being a cross roads of sorts between high and low but not really a middle ground , a mix of tasteful fashions of the 40's 50's and punk new wave attitudes [ such as tattoos ] . I guess my lowbrow-ness is due to rock n roll…

Let's Get Heatstroke! A Palm Springs Adventure

You know, sometimes I'm dumb. I ascribe this mostly to the fact that as the Supreme Overlord of PUG, after 15 years I have gotten to the point that I don't really "work" in the same sense that I used to. I've gone from being the only person in the business, responsible for doing everything, thinking about everything, and anticipating everything, to being the Supervisor of the business, supported by many amazing people who do things, think about things, and…

Would The Real PUG Addicts Please Stand Up?

"We're gonna have a problem here..."

Oh dear. It seems I have gone and purchased multiples of a few items recently. I think I may have a problem!

It started with the black Jessica, I adore my lipstick red version so much. I wore it for a coffee "date" and the poor gentleman couldn't get that look off his face.

Last month I took a chance and ordered the red harlequin print Jenny dress. Due to my odd-ish size (39-31-39) it's hard for me to not…

Running from Scary People in our Favorite PUG Items

So, this is another adventure from our personal blog, Junebugs and Georgia Peaches but if you ever wondered what it'd be like to run from stranger danger in a full skirt or full skirt-ed dress... here's a story!

A couple of weekends ago, I drove to Augusta, GA from Nashville, TN to visit my best friend and, amount other things, announce a pinup contest!  We were especially excited because it seemed like a lot…

Inspiration #1; Perks of being a walflower.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a novel written by Stephan Chobosky, This book (turned into film in 2012) is about a mentally unstable teenager named 'Charlie'. He describes various life experiences through a series of letters to an anonymous stranger. Set in the early 1990s, the story follows Charlie through his freshman year of high school in a Pittsburgh suburb.

This film shows the understanding of wanting to belong, But also taught me…

Jealousy

I’m not a jealous person, usually. I feel like it’s at the top of the list of useless/harmful emotions. But sometimes I get jealous. Today I did. When I do, I feel the most important thing to do is ask myself *why*-

So today, I was on the intertubes and I ran across a blog run by a woman who paints, cooks, sews, etc. She documents her life. And as I was scrolling through her images, I felt it - this weird sinking feeling in my gut. Then I heard it - my inner voice, and it was…
