The Modern Marvel - The Monica and Gia Dress

The Laura Byrnes Fall collection is unique and distinctive, it pushes past previous designs with fabric and design. Two dresses in particular are helming this collection and those two dresses are the Monica and Gia.

To use the phrase Modern Marvel may feel a bit boisterous, but you will understand once you slink into one of these designs. There is a transformation to your form that is unlike any previous styles that have come out of the Pinup Girl brands. You see these glamorous and provocative photos and instantly you want to become the model, their curves and shape pull you in, but there are things that go unseen that make these designs truly special.

Inside of each dress is a shell made of bengaline, cut and seamed to pull in your figure and define your shape. With the help of high quality fusing and excellent execution it has the look of body control garments  but does not hinder comfort or move-ability. Depending on which color you get, you will find the gathered overlay to be either made of a soft ITY matte jersey or of an American made soft knitted lurex. Each piece demands several yards of fabric to allow for the long gathered panels, that accentuate and smoothly lay on top of the under shell.

The Monica is my personal favorite, the sleeves are worn slightly off shoulder, with a large band of elastic and clear elastic, it stays firmly in place and I have found can be worn successfully without a bra. This design, when ordered in the appropriate size does not even require an un-zip from the invisible zipper, you can slink and shimmy into it just like Spanx or any other control garment.

The Gia, has a deep plunging neckline, but still manages to be tame with the amount of chest coverage the panels give you. With the under shell and yolk you will find it unnecessary to also wear a bra with this design, and whenever I find a dress that allows for this I rejoice. This style also features an invisible zipper.

These Modern Marvels, are all proudly made here in California, as all Laura Byrnes designs and Pinup Girl Clothing brands continue to do.

Both styles are expected very soon to www.pinupgirlclothing.com

I was already pining for the gold Monica but was a little worried about it showing flaws, but now I am SOLD and cannot wait to get my hands on this one!

I adore the Monica! I can't wait!

However, the Gia I won't wear, just because my boob size would make me look like a harlot in this very classy dress. (This is a me problem, not a PUG problem.)

I'm also going to have to concur with Sarah Fatale - the Monica is the dress I've always wanted.
