It is a wonderful thing to see so many women walk through the boutique doors, put on a Pinup Girl dress and tell myself, Doris, Carole or Margarita how beautiful it makes them feel. Like they can conquer the world!
Over the weekend, PUG's very own Micheline Pitt helped take that to another level by having pinup photo sessions at the boutique! She teamed up with the amazing established photographer Holly West and the sweetest talented hair/make-up artist (and PUG model) Erika Reno to…

So often I see girls post about us making petite sizing, but we actually carry several styles that work great for our little ladies. Though any of our styles can be easily hemmed to fall at a flattering length, these styles will not need a stitch! I find it helpful to look at the models stats on the lower left side of the image, it helps me to know the length the dress will be on myself.…

I watched a video today that featured Amy Poehler in "Ask Amy". She talked about loving yourself for what your body has and not focusing on what it can't have. It was pretty fantastic [watch here] and got me thinking about my own body issues.
I've been consistently overweight since I was about nine years old. It was impossible to find kids/teen clothes in the typical stores that my friends would shop at. I had to shop in the…

A couple Friday's ago I had the honor of being a demo hair model at Pinup Girl's Boutique grand opening!
It was quite the affair, complete with pink carpet, bar, live makeup and hair demos, and a live performance by Nick Waterhouse and The Tarots!
The totally fabulous and amazing Tara Alexander was my stylist and was…

As much as I love being modest, I've got to say: my skin looks damned good for my age (43). I'm going to chalk it up to the daily moisturizing I've been doing since I was 22, as well as to the various peels etc I use.
My younger friends have heard my spiel multiple times: Moisturize! Use sunscreen! Exfoliate! And now, you get to hear it too.
Remember kids, the future is not an urban legend. If you eat right and stay out of trouble, one day you'll get to be old like me too, and…

I have said this before and I will say it again:
"As a makeup artist I strive to make people beautiful. My entire reason of being a makeup artist is to make people feel beautiful and bring something out that they themselves don’t often see. It is hard to see people doing makeup that does the complete opposite and takes away that beauty. I look forward to being able to help others see the light soon."…

Over here at PUG HQ, we always joke about all the stories we never get to tell, of the assorted craziness that comes with this job. Whether it's a client, a supplier, a model hopeful, or an artist's agent. Here's a story we feel needs to be told, and we're willing to risk appearing "unprofessional" by telling it.
Many long-time PUG fans and customers understand our policy on models. In short: We are not a model agency, nor do we use one to find our models. We are arbitrary and picky,…

Dita Von Teese Strip Strip Hooray May 12, 2012
For some time now, I have admired the glamorous and insanely elegant beauty of Dita Von Teese. I love the glamour of Old Hollywood films and photos, so it's only natural to be drawn to this style icon. At the moment, my bank accounts would spew out expletives and go on strike at the mere thought of my trying to purchase even one of the beautiful dresses in which she has walked the red carpet. Thank…
