Dita Von Teese Strip Strip Hooray May 12, 2012

For some time now, I have admired the glamorous and insanely elegant beauty of Dita Von Teese. I love the glamour of Old Hollywood films and photos, so it's only natural to be drawn to this style icon. At the moment, my bank accounts would spew out expletives and go on strike at the mere thought of my trying to purchase even one of the beautiful dresses in which she has walked the red carpet. Thank goodness I can find quality retro dresses without breaking the bank thanks to Pinupgirlclothing.com....okay so maybe I can break the bank being that I want everything on this website :)

Though Dita has been performing for years, this  would be my first time to see her perform along with the accompanying performances of Dirty MartiniCatherine D’Lish,Selene LunaLada Nikolska , Monsieur Romeo, The Vontourage (Erica Holland and Donna Hood), and Perle Noire. Of course, for this special occasion I wanted to achieve the ultra feminine and sexy pinup girl curves that would grab attention...in a good way. I don't quite qualify for the Big Boobie Crew, but a great dress that fits well can make all the difference. My weapon of choice: the Zebra print Vamp dress by Deadly Dames. I chose to use purple hair flowers and sash for color accents.

The Early Bird gets the worm! Per Ashleeta’s advice I arrived early at the House of Blues to join her, Natasha, Crystal, and Ashlee-Marie, but later ran into other fans of Pinup Girl Clothing. We first enjoyed dinner and appetizers at the restaurant, and stood in the front of the line to make a mad dash for spots by the stage. Mission accomplished! If we were any closer to Dita, we would be the thong in her behind. The M.C. of the show, Murray Hill, played with the crowd before Dita began her first number. He honed in on people in the crowd, including me. He directed the spotlight to focus on me, as he asked my name and then imitated me. In a jokingly way, he did his rendition of a runway walk in reference to seeing me walk to the entrance of the House of Blues several hours prior to showtime.

Dita opened the show in a gorgeously tailored suit by couturier Alexis Mabille, reminiscent of Marlene Dietrich in the 1930s film, Morocco. I was elated that I was able to take pictures! I was ready to transform into a paparazzo being that I had such a prime spot, to get every angle possible, but then my bubble was burst when security motioned for me to stop. Whaa whaa whaaaaa...Nevertheless, my memories are forever invaded by the Swarovski crystal adorned costumes, sets, and props that followed. I can understand why so many women adore her show...we are hypnotized by the sparkling beauty. A girlish fantasy of glamour and royalty manifests itself in this show! After unlacing her sparkling corset, Dita threw one of two corset strings into the audience that Ashleeta caught! During another act, Crystal experienced a baby powder shower on the top of her head courtesy of Dita. As close as we were, I wanted to touch Dita, but I opted not to. Instead, I witnessed the look of daggers thrown at another woman, as she couldn’t resist touching Dita’s gown.

During intermission three members of the audience were asked to come onstage....I was one of the three!!!! Murray Hill had us introduce ourselves. When it was my turn, he looked up at me and made remarks about my being so tall...his head was at my bustline. He proceeded to place the microphone between my cleavage (if you can call it that), and asked my name again. I wrapped my arm around him, pulled him closer to my boobs to tell my name :) The dance off began, with an adorable woman that was called on stage first. Then it was my turn to give it a go, and finally a charming gentleman who did his own PG rated striptease. I felt embarrassed to be up there dancing, but at the same time had so much fun while stamping this memorable moment in the files of my mind. I walked away with second place...the man who charmed the crowd with his striptease won first. The prize I won was a beautiful show program illustrated by one of my favorite artists, Olivia de Berardinis.

After watching Dita work her magic; getting hypnotized by all the bling; looking in amazement at the incredibly flexible Catherine D’Lish; being flirted with by the beautiful Romeo; winning a prize; dodging baby powder and much more, could it get any better? Why yes, yes it can. Perle Noire gave such an energetic performance that left me gasping for air. I lost weight just looking at her gymnastic-like routine reminiscent of the great Josephine Baker. After Perle was finished with her routine, she bent down to give me a kiss on the cheek and a hug! Then after I posted some of the pics from the night onto my Facebook, Olivia de Berardinis and Bernie Dexter commented on my page :) Olivia went on to describe that Dita tweeted about a couple that was found in the bathroom having sex after her cowboy ride scene! Bernie Dexter complemented and congratulated me!

My experience of Dita’s show was amazing. I will definitely go again! I had such a great time that it was difficult to go to sleep though I had to be up early for my day at the Pinup Parade at Disneyland with Pinupgirlclothing.com. Ahhh what a dream-like night :)

Y'all look absolutely beautiful.  I was at the house of blues in Houston last year and the show was amazing.  I agree with Tiffany it was a great show.  I am looking forward to the next leg of the tour as the Houston show did not have Perle Noir or Catherine D'Lish (which I hear both are fabulous).  Tiffany, I got to meet Dita backstage that night.  She was so beautiful and so sweet.  She even hugged my neck when we left.
