Deadly Dames Malibu Tiki Dress - The Return of the Polynesian Princess

One of the most beloved things I collect are Hawaiian dresses, be it Surf and Sand, Miss Hawaii or Alfred Shaheen they are my obsession. The construction and cut were nothing like you would find from most designers in the 40's and 50's, so I knew for Deadly Dames I had to meld all my favorite designs into one to create the ultimate dress. I added a bolero to all styles, took away the halter straps and added the ever popular adjustable straps from the Deadly Dames Vamp Dress. I also got rid…

Rago Shapewear - The Original Innovator in Mid Century Under Garments

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of shapewear.  If you just glance at my blog 'Fuller Figure Fuller Bust' you will see evidence of my corset addiction.  If you read on a bit further you will come across a number if shapewear and cincher reviews, as I tried to find my perfect stomach tamer.  I must admit I thought I had found The One.  It pulled me in, smoothed me out, yes it was a little tricky to pee…

How the Veronica Wiggled its way into our Hearts

The Veronica has been one of my favs since first catching a glimpse of it on the sample rack and it is finally in stock in all colorways!  I like the contrasting blue and red the best!  Which ones your favorite?  The Veronica is an hourglass girl's dream in curve-loving bengaline with a nipped-in waistband and an adorable heart-shaped frame at the bust. Lots of stretch everywhere but the waist, this sexy wiggle will accommodate a range of bust and hip sizes. Finished off with a charming…

The ever popular Netti.

The Netti in Black Cowboy print was my very first dress purchased from Pinup Girl clothing.

The super adorable unique print was what caught my eye at first, then the structure of the dress, with it's full circle skirt, fitted bodice and best of all wide adjustable straps and matching belt! I knew this dress was a great choice to starting my journey into Vintage inspired…

The Birdie Party Dress- Turning Men Into Gentlemen!

I wrote this review for the Pin Up Persuasion blog competition a few months back. I got the second place prize and a $100 JBR gift voucher (yipee!).

The competition was to review one peice of vintage or vintage repoduction clothing that you could not live without. After much agonizing, I picked the Birdie because I have worn it on so many different occasions. It can be a casual summer barbecue dress with wedges or a more formal dress with killer pumps.

The quality is of course…

Slip into Old Hollywood - The History of the Mule Shoe

At the dawn of man they created the wheel and I feel their intense love of cars and all things round stems from this creation. I think a cave woman somewhere must have invented the first shoe, because I can’t really explain otherwise for women’s obsession over footwear. It seems as far as we can go back women have always famously loved wearing beautiful…

My Battles With My Body And How Pinup Girl Clothing Helped Save Me

I seem to have reached a point in my life where, at 22, I am finally happy with my body, found a style that suits my shape and love myself for who I am. Pinup Girl Clothing has played a huge role in this and I will be forever grateful.

I would like to share my journey in the hope that it may help someone who is going through something similar.

I hit puberty early, at age 11. Up until then I was tall for my age and skinny as a rake. But then I started getting boobs, pimples,…

Deadly Dames - Deadly From the Begining

Growing up poor may seem like a negative to most especially here in California but growing up in a small town in Georgia it was common place. For me being poor meant I had to be more creative with what I had and it fed into me designing and making my own clothes and accessories.

Most kids had their parents take them shopping for school clothes, we…

How PUG helped me get through Cancer & Changed my life.

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2009/2010 (Im all better now). The treatments involved heavy chemo and radiation therapy. My body changed rapidly, one minute I was deathly skinny and the next bloated and icky. I felt terrible about my body, skin and hair and everything deteriorated for me I lost confidence in myself, I did not think I could make it.

Whilst browsing the net I came across the PUG site. As I browsed through the designs I fell in love with what I saw, but as I looked down…
