Deadly Dames Malibu Tiki Dress - The Return of the Polynesian Princess

One of the most beloved things I collect are Hawaiian dresses, be it Surf and Sand, Miss Hawaii or Alfred Shaheen they are my obsession. The construction and cut were nothing like you would find from most designers in the 40's and 50's, so I knew for Deadly Dames I had to meld all my favorite designs into one to create the ultimate dress. I added a bolero to all styles, took away the halter straps and added the ever popular adjustable straps from the Deadly Dames Vamp Dress. I also got rid of the buckle sash and added an adjustable side tie. The skirt is longer and has more coverage for when you sit and walk, because no one needs to have a fashion faux pa when they out in public.

When I originally released the Malibu tiki dress I thought of Malibu Barbie (yes I am a big Barbie lover as well) and how they were bright and bold colors, I wanted a little 80's meets 50's. I originally released the dress in a baby pink colorway and a baby blue colorway. They were discontinued for a window of time until I could redesign them properly. Now one of the original Baby Blue and Pink Malibu Tiki Dress colorway is back!

Little did I know after creating the dress that Amy Winehouse would be wearing it among other designs from Pinup Girl Clothing's housebrands.

Amy left us suddenly and will be missed greatly. However before her passing she donated this Deadly Dames Malibu Tiki dress to auction to  help a foundation for terminally ill children, it raised $40,000 (£25,000). We will be donating a portion of the proceeds of the same dress to the same foundation in honor of Amy.

Now little known fact is that this print is an original hand painted fabric design from the 1950's that I dug out of a box and got the rights to use. The original colorway was beautiful but it did not match my design aesthetic at the moment and now seemed like the right time to bring it out. The Blue and Red Malibu Tiki Dress is shot on the lovely Masuimi Max by Holly West at a local tiki bar called Tiki No.

We brought back the Black Shakira Malibu tiki dress as well witht he same re-designs!

After being sold out for many moons the Deadly Dames Malibu Tiki dresses have returned re-designed and ready to come home with you. All three colorways are IN STOCK in sizes XS -2X. If you are between sizes please ORDER UP, this style does not have the same fit as previous productions, always check our sizecharts before placing an order.

Gorgeous fabric choices.  And the bolero!  Love it!  I've actually been prowling for the perfect fabric so I can make my own Shaheen style tiki dress.

I hope this dress will be for a long time at PUG, like a best seller :-)
I live in France and for us it's the end of summer... so not the time to wear tiki dress anyway :-(((
I plan to buy it for next spring/summer, hoping the dress will be still avalaible.

Love it! Thanks Micheline
