I'm sure I'm not alone here when I say that I wish I could find certain styles of clothes that I have seen in classic films and photographs. My love for the dresses, hats, purses, shoes, swimwear and prints inspired by the 1940s and 1950s are the very reason why I stop by Pinupgirlclothing.com.
Are there any vintage photos, sketches, patterns, or screen shots from favorite classic movies of clothes that you wish you could prance around in? If you wanted to communicate how you wanted specific outfits, accessories of shoes made, what would you do to show your inspiration? Are there any pics out there of vintage clothes that you wish you could have in a different print pattern, color, neckline, etc. ? Please share and maybe your inspirations can become manifestations :)
NOTE: Please refrain from posting photos of vintage reproductions from other companies existing today. Thanks xoxo
Some of my favorite vintage inspirations:
This hat and polka dot dress with pleated skirt...OOOOH YEEEAAH :) I would love to see this dress style in solid colors too...pastels are my favorite :)
Please PUG surprise me with peekaboo cutout jumpsuits and dresses in varied lengths, colors, and patterns...a chinese blossom print might be pretty cool :)
A girl can’t have too many swimsuits either, can she? Can PUG do the Barbie stripes in other colors too?
Here are a few examples of my wishes. What do you envision?

I finally broke down and bought a bunch of my favorite classic on iTunes. It's nice to have them in a digital form that i can watch anywhere.
Actually, I was told that I could go to Walmart and give them my DVDs to change into a format that is viewable on my ipad! I haven't gotten the chance to try it yet because there isn't one near where I live. I have been able to watch a few on Netflix though :)
I am also in total agreement about the boudoir stuff too :) Chiffon floor length robes, long lace and silk night gowns...aaahhhh
YESS CHIFFON FLOOR LENGTH ROBES!
Whom do I have to bribe with tequila and chocolate to make this a reality Angelique!? :D
The Supreme Overlord, Laura Byrnes, would be a good start :)
Do you think the girls at PUG are listening to this discussion at all? I would bribe with money for my ideal coat
My mouth dropped liked the men in the movie when I saw these dresses :)
I'm all about anything MM style! Casual or dressed-up. She just got it right. Plus the styles she wore would be flattering for a curvy girl like myself. I also love glamour. :) And I also agree about boudoir kind of things. I would love some old-fashioned night and underthings. I feel like it is so hard now to find vintage-style nightgowns, robes, slips, etc., and they are so beautiful!
OMG I totally was going to post this dress, but I was trying to refrain from adding too many pics...believe me it was very hard which is why I made collages, but still I have many more. I am in TOTAL agreement about this one. It's a very nice everyday, strolling the street and/or grocery shopping outfit..hehe ;)
Yes because as much as I love a full circle skirt, I like to have dress style like this too.
Wow this is beautiful...more evening wear like.

I've gone makeup free (zit on the chin and all!) except my mascara to showcase how good it is - it makes even the stubbiest little lashes gigantic! It's "They're real" by Benefit. People often ask me…Continue
