okay, thanks!!

I know you're busy but I'd like to wait and see what other things you're going to list before I send you payment for the Masumi dress. That way you can ship it all together.

Hello there Kelly,
May I just know if you shall be adding to this listing with your future items, or creating a brand new one.
I would like to keep an eye/ear open, in case you have something which might fit and suit me, but will turn off notifications for this thread as there is nothing in it for me at this time if your plan is to set up new postings.Thank you

Sorry, I had a really bad asthma attack which put me out of commission for a while.  I am up and at 'em again and added more stuff.  I apologize for falling off the planet there.  :(

Oh gosh, I hope you are alright. I've asthma as well and can empathize fully at how debilitating and energy robing a disease it can be.

Can you tell me if you four wearing a corset was uncomfortable on your lungs. I have been interested, but concerned on this point due to my condition. Typically controlled, but pressure from my diaphragm on my lungs (due to weight gain or even excess food indulgence) can impact me.

Thank you for the notice. I shall have a look through your latest items. x

My asthma is typically really mild, as in usually I only have to use Albuterol two or three times a year, but since I've been in southern California, I've been huffing and puffing like a 90 year old chain smoker.  I've had to go on inhaled steroids, singulair, and just recently with this bout, 3 weeks of oral steroids.  That's why I'm packing up and moving.  Asthma is no fun.

I can't imagine even considering a corset when I'm having breathing problems, but at my baseline, it was surprisingly comfortable.

You know how asthmatics start air-trapping, and then you get the feeling like you can't take in a full breath?  You probably know the physiology (I'm a respiratory therapist, so forgive me), but when your airways get inflamed and constricted, the air goes in because your diaphragm is strong enough to pull it in, but since exhalation is passive, you can't exhale completely and air gets trapped in your alveoli.

That's why a lot of asthmatics, and especially people with COPD get barrel-chested.  Turns out they used to prescribe corsets to asthmatics to compress the lungs and prevent air-trapping.  Interesting, huh?  Perhaps that's why it wasn't uncomfortable like I'd expected.  My rib cage flares a bit at the bottom from the asthma (I was super self-conscious of it as a beanpole-skinny teen), and I love the way corsets taper it a bit.  I have a few of them.

Thank you, Kelly. It is very interesting and I am happy to hear from someone with personal experience. There have been times where I felt adding a more accentuated silhouette would be flattering, though my research seemed to imply that they would likely be an impairment or stress on my breathing.

I, like you, am typically controlled, however triggers will creep up on me — things like seasonal allergens, cigarette smoke, cold air, pollution, and even alcohol — and catch me off-guard. In the past, when it has been really bad, I would see stars, become incredibly weak, and absent minded — shudder to think how many braincells I may have lost due to lack of oxygen!!

Sorry to hijack your sales posting.
Is there an asthmatic group on these pages, or elsewhere you might recommend? I have done some research, of course, but when it came to corsets most indicated that it would be an uncomfortable and unnecessary risk.
I think it might be an interesting space for the similarly fashion-inclined to have as reference. (Do you scuba? I would like to, but have been discouraged by reports and advice)

It is rather nice to have you deter me some from So-Cal dreaming, as I've a bit of a crush on that part of the country and the whole of that state! ;)
I hope that your move is 100% a success, and remedies all associated difficulties for you and wish you the best of luck!!

Hi I am interested in your lavender masumui dress!

Sorry I am taking so long to get back to this thread.  Alex M gets first dibs, but if she doesn't want it, it is yours.

Correction: It is ALEX FLETES who expressed interest in the Masumui.

Oops, sorry.  Wrong Alex.

I still want the Masumi and I'd also like the vamp top. Where in Southern California are you located? Maybe I can pick up from you so that you don't have to ship?
