Hi All

So I hope this does not sound weird, but after I have finished making up my face (for an occasion), I usually spray hairspray on (yes the face) just to set it and make sure nothing slips (like eye make up esp). Its a trick that my mum used to do (when she was younger).

Obviously I dont go overboard just a quick spray from arms length away and I dont do it ALL the time just when I have put some effort into my make up. Anyway I was wondering if there was an actual beauty product that could do this, to replace the hairspray technique.

Just to be clear, it does not stuff up my skin or anything like that Im just thinking it cant be good for me lol.

I haven't tried these but I've heard awesome things about the Urban Decay All Night Long Setting Spray and the Skindinavia line of make up setting sprays.

Thanks Zynthia Im going to have a look at these :)

Hello there! There is she laq by Benefit, I don't know if they sell it anymore and MAC and other cosmetic company's have put out primers to help set your makeup.

Hi Lucy

The primers just dont work for me, my skin seems to absorb my make up more when I do put primers on!

The UD De-slick spray is awesome, I've never tried All Night Long. I used to spray hairspray on my face to set my theater make up when I was in musicals for years (every weekend some times full weeks at a time for years) . As long as I used cold cream and made sure I cleaned my face well I never really had any issue.

The Model in a Bottle line is great too. I used to use hairspray too but I have super sensitive skin so it just clogged my pores.

Where can you find the Model in a Bottle line in stores?

Model in a bottle is amazing. It hit 100+ degrees in Los Angeles today and my makeup didnt melt off. The sensitive one is best for anyone. (And its highly recommended by Micheline Pitt) =0) You can find it here http://nigelbeauty.com/m-173-model-in-a-bottle.aspx

I have done this when I've been desperate once or twice.  I swear by Urban Decay's All Nighter spray.  It's light weight, not sticky.

what ?! :O

Don't do this honey hairspray is full of alcohol & it will dry your skin out !!!!

For long lasting eyeshadows use urban decay primer potion or Too faced shadow insurance as a base before you do your eyes. Trust me your makeup will stay all day or all night long ;).

For the face there's no miracle product... skin is a living thing... it breathes, it perspires... but DO make sure you moisturize very well so your skin doesn't feel thursty enough to "drink" your foundation and apply a good setting powder.

My face routine : Lots of moisturizer+Mac prolongwear foundation+concealor (I swear by these !)+urban decay razor sharp powder+Mac's blotting powder compact for eventual retouch.

Your face WILL look great for at least 8 to 12 hours.

Viola

Thank you all you lovely ladies. I have taken your advice and gotten myself the too faced shadow insurance and the too faced bronzer insurance. I am thinking about investing in Urban Decays all night spray as well. My face and make up thank you for your advice

So the first picture is natural brows. The second is with the left brow done. What I'm asking you ladies is some critic on it as I've never actually done my brows before I don't want to look silly. Continue
