I have decided that im going to be inking up the outside of my thighs, with something colourfull and pretty. For one thigh im considering a pretty girl inspired of Marie Antoinette, with that big curly hair updo with flowers and pearls in it and perhaps a misplaced cupcake. Its just a shame it wont be seen so often as im always in kneelong skirts :)

Whats your next tattoo?

Nice!!... For me I've already got a pretty colorful phoenix on my back right shoulder blade... and am considering what to add to that, but for now the next one up is a swallow on my inner left forearm... I've earned the miles out at sea, and I want something that is significant to that, but still pretty, and not an anchor like 99% of the guys I work with.  I'm going to get Tolkien's "Not All Who Wander Are Lost" around it.

Pretty! Isnt swallows an old sailors tattoo symbolizing being close to harbour/home as on can spot swallos? Sounds like it will sit good on you being some kind of sailor? :)

Yep... they meant you were finally close to home, and they came to represent that you'd sailed over 5000 nautical miles for each one, as well as representing love, care and affection towards family and friends, showing the loyalty of the person always returning to them.  Technically I could get roughly 7.5 of them... but I think that might be pushing things a little bit. ;)

Nice! I have tattoos on the outside of both my thighs- I love them- I have a mermaid on either leg. You might not be able to see them with most skirts, but shorts work!

Also, these were my first tattoos, and there's something about that spot that is "for me" I LOVE mermaids, and have been obsessed since I was old enough to draw (like 4)- And- if you want to get stuff added into the tatoos later, it's a great big palette campared to many of the other surfaces of the body.

My next tattoo is going to be an octopus friend, on my shoulder/arm- and i'm going to get some of the suction cups branded for the 3-d effect, and also to experience branding. I know it's a little extreme, but i think it will really add to the tattoo.

Sounds nice, i think there is something very feminine about that placement and like you said it could be shown of with a pair of shorts or at the beach :)

I wonder what branding feels like? Just the thought gives me chivers! I guess im a little too conservative for those new body mods (and perhaps too chicken too) ;)

I want a pin up girl for my next tattoo and was thinking of getting her on the outside of my thigh. :) Anyone feel like sharing their favorite pin up girl art for inspiration?

Well since I am a cake decorator/baker, my next tattoo is going to be a sugar skull(super colorful) with a marigold on top and two roses, one on each side. In the center of each rose will be oven mitts sticking out. The sugar skull willl have cupcake eyes and sprinkles falling from it's forehead. I already drew it out but I want the tattoo artist to perfect it. I want it to look traditional but with pops of color.

I'll be getting it for my birthday in September...gotta save up some cash =)

My father passed away recently. He served in Vietnam as a combat medic in the Army. I was thinking of commemorating him and his service by getting the Combat Medic emblem tattooed on a shoulder.

I've just started (within the last week) my half sleeve on my left arm (the right arm is done)- it's a mixture of things I love: my cats and star wars. The first piece was one of my cats, Liam in an x-wing pilot hat (complete with rebel alliance symbols)- its now in that gross peeling phase which I hope is done by Wednesday :) The filler will be more empire/rebel alliance symbols, dead mice (since it is a cat themed sleeve), pineapples, and an outline of california (I'm from california).

your thigh piece sounds awesome! I've got a misplaced cupcake tattoo :)

i saw the pic that you put up, i love it! i, too, am a huge star wars nerd ;)

Thank you! I'm pretty pleased with it! I need to finish more color on it, and then start to add in the next pieces, Mortimer and EL Woo Woo. :)

my fiance and I are huge,  huge star wars nerds :D we've actually incorporated quite a few things star wars related into the wedding :D

I just love those sleeves or pieces where there are a litle odd mixture of motives and not only the usuall flower/heart/sugerskulls, it sounds awesome! Wheres your cupcake btw? :)
