Hey! I've been searching for really good shape wear for plus size ladies to wear underneath my PUG dresses. Do you ladies know a good brand that gives amazingly sexy curves under these beautiful dresses? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!!!

My favorite shaper is called the Body magic made by Ardyss. My friend Lee sells them and has all the info =] They make you at least two sizes smaller =]

You can get a hold of her at lee@down3in10.com or call at 214-796-2437 www.down3in10.com

I'm wearing one of the shapers in this photo =]

Here's a photo of me in the same dress without it

There's more tummy visible and I don't have as visible of an hour glass shape as I do in the previous photo. Hope this helps!

xoxo

Danielle

Hi Danielle,

Just wondering if the hooks on the shaper are visible? I'm really cant see them on your picture, but I was still curious.

Thank you,

Vanessa

They are just slightly visible but not anymore visible than a regular cincher. I always wear my spanx over them just in case =]

I have 2 Rago waist cinchers that I really like and the take you down one to two sizes on how snug of a cincher you have. I have a large and x-large.

You'll see a lot of people wax poetic about Rago! I like Rago but if your measurements are drastically different stick with a girdle for the hips and a waist cincher for the top. My hips are 13 inches more than my waist so something like the Rago 1294 isn't best for situations like that, but I LOVE the Rago 1361 :)

I'm glad you mentioned that, Karyn. My waist and hips are 13 inches apart, too, so I always wondered if that would be a problem with Rago. I always hear the 1294 is good, but perhaps I would be better with something like the 1361, like you then. I really want to try the 9357 Open Bottom Corset Bodybriefer. Have you tried that one?

Just seeing this sorry Candy! I haven't tried the 9357 but it IS on the to buy list eventually. But definitely if your proportions are roller coaster curves like mine avoid the 1294 :)

I got my 9357, and it is so pretty! It smooths everything out really well and holds the tummy in. It doesn't ride up, which is great. I haven't really tried it yet with a dress, but I loved it when I tried it on. I'm trying to work with the cups on it yet to get them adjusted to my liking. I couldn't order it in my actual bra size, so I had to adjust, but it still works. I have to give it more of proper try with a dress, but I was just so enamored with how pretty it was. I also have to get some stockings. :)
I also got the 6101, which I also am impressed with. It has good tummy control and comfort.

I've heard a lot of people coo about Rago shape wear too. I'm still trying to find the best style for me. I think it's important to look into how firm a shape wear you want too. The first two Ragos I tried were extra firm and it was too much for me--I felt like it took away my figure. I just wanted something to smooth my curves and hide the tummy. The last one I got was the 6195, which is a brief girdle, and it seems to be okay. It came with detachable garter hooks too. =) I'd be curious to see what other brands or styles are out there that would work for moderate shaping.

I just ordered the 9357 Open Bottom Body Briefer and the 6101 High Waist Panty Briefer. I'll have to see how they are when they arrive. I hope they work out. I know what you mean, though, with all the different options. I felt a little overwhelmed when I was trying to decide what to pick. I wish a store near me carried Rago so I could see/try in person.

Same! It'd save a lot of hassle if I could try them on in store, haha. Let me know what you think of the 6101! I was looking at that one too, but I thought it might be too high waisted and that the zipper would poke me all day.

So, the 6101 has really nice shaping for the tummy area. It holds in the tummy really well for pencil skirts and whatnot. It is high-waisted, but I don't feel like it pokes me. The material is soft, and there's no bones or anything at the waist to poke you. The zipper doesn't poke you either (it's a rather small zipper). When you put it on, first you hook the zipper area up, then you zip it. My only little gripe with it is that it rolls down a bit in the back, which causes a little hangover. I feel like every shaper of this kind does that, though. I put it on with my vamp top, and you couldn't tell through the shirt. I guess I could always try a longline bra if I wanted help with that issue (to eliminate the bulge between the shaper and my bra). I haven't worn it yet for an extended period of time, but from just trying it on it seems good.
The 9357 is so pretty. It smooths everything out really well, too. Also, it doesn't ride up. I haven't really tried it with a dress/outfit yet, though. Both my new shapers make me really want to get stockings!
