Have any of you girls tried hot sticks as opposed to hot rollers? If so, what do you think of them? Are they worth the purchase?

I own Hot Sticks. These are only good if you want a very tight/pincurl effect. Youre not going to get a looser curl with these because they are so small. With hot rollers, the curl is bigger and more relaxed. Theyre about the size of a pen or sharpie, so the curl is tight. It takes a lot of molding and brushing to relax these curls. I personally like them for certain styles. Ive heard that theu have trouble staying in after a while though. But you can get them for less than $20, so i guess thats to be expected.

I'm thinking you're talking about hot flexirollers, and I do not personally have any experience with them, but I know one who does. And she's very happy! They make tighter curls and are good for 40's 50's styles. If you just buy 'em cheap in your local drug store, you can try them out! I've only heard good things about them.

Hope it helped a bit

I've been wanting to try them, especially after seeing LisaFreemontStreet and Fleur de Guerre do videos on them.  Is there a particular brand that is better?

After reading this I had to try them too, since I'm experimenting with different curling methods. I was really happy first, but I think my mistake was falling for the temptation to brush through one more time after it was really a finished style. I looked nice when I left home, but by the time I got to the party (I live in Norway, so I have already been out and about and back. Early night, though), there were really just waves left. Disappointed! I'm going to try again, because if I can treat the curls in a way that makes them last a little longer, this was a nice and easy way to curl my hair. Need a little practice too, with wrapping the ends around the sticks (especially without burning my thumb!). Not a good photo, but this is before leaving home.
