I have read a few amazing reviews on Heidi and have about 20 PUG dresses but don't have any of the 'staple' Heidis! I have had my eye on the mint heidi, but I'm not sure for a couple of reasons some of you ladies may be able to help me out with.

Firstly, I am attempting to make sure my wardrobe is more versatile as I feel like my dress collection is just that- a  beautiful collection that sits there and is admired. I want to be able to wear my PUG more to work (thank you Laura Byrnes black label) ...anyway, I am worried Heidi is too low cut for work wear and don't know if the dress would suit a cami underneath given the bust detailing. If anyone has any feedback or pics, I'd love to know! I did see a recent review with a pic that looked like a cami but it was hard to tell from the one pic.

Just based on my one experience (I wrote a lengthy review under the Product Reviews group), Heidi didn't work for my build. I did not find it particularly low cut, but the waist was too long for my torso and wasn't very becoming, plus I couldn't get the bust to sit properly. It may depend on what bra you wear it with - some get a very Va-va-voom! effect with maximum cleavage, but others don't look quite so..."out there".

Is this the review you're referring to that showed camis underneath? http://www.pinupgirlstyle.com/group/pug-product-reviews/forum/topic...  It looks like she has a white one under the red, and a black one under the blue, both of which work for an even more modest take on the dress.

Hope that helps! Other ladies who own more of the Heidi and love them will hopefully chime in with their own experiences.

I'm actually wearing the leopard Heidi at work today. I'm not comfortable showing too much at work (or in general), and Heidi doesn't, at least in my case. I added a photo in the fan-photos section a while ago, it's quite poor quality, unfortunately, but maybe if I remember I can try to get a better photo when I get home.

I have added a better photo now.

Well, I'm wearing my cherry Heidi at work right now! Of course, I'm in tech, which doesn't have a conservative dress code, so YMMV. :)

But yes, it's an awesome dress. I have three in this cut. Love, love, love. <3

I'm at work in a Heidi too! In fact, I just went to two job interviews in Heidi dresses (royal blue with a black sweater with tan detailing and black belt, and pin dot with a jewel purple sweater and black belt) - for a high level executive admin position at a hospital. I'm not particularly busty though, and just wear a flatter bra when I want to look more professional. Dressed up with a contrasting belt and bolero/sweater with a lapel, so far so good - I'm pretty sure I got the job!

I have heidis in Cherry, black with cream bow, cat print with red bow, grey with pink bow, solid red, and pin dot (blue belongs to the roomie who is also a PUG addict). I wear them all to work, though the ones sans boobie bows are probably a bit more professional.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the Heidi dresses. Seriously I LOVE them.

I am however really, really busty so I cannot personally get away with wearing it to work because it gives really, really good cleavage. I have worn it with a cardigan, but...the dress is so pretty and the neckline is so awesome I feel lame wearing it to work with it :/ so. for me it's become a staple evening/weekend/not at work piece of clothing. I love them!

edited to add I own several Heidi's: Solid Red, Red with Cream Bow, Cat-Print, Grey with Pink Bow, Mint, Solid Blue (one of my favorites!!), Black with White Pin Dots, Leopard Print, Cherry Print and I have pre-ordered the elusive Red Floral Print. I am on a quest to find the Solid Black white White trim, and the Black with Cream bow Heidi's as well which has been hard boo :(

Well NUTS. I didn't even know there WAS a heidi in solid black with white trim... adding that one to my list too!

I love the heidi and natasha dresses!
Depending on your body shape it will either fit perfect or not at all.
I have a friend that has small proportions but absolutely no hip/waist definition and these dresses do not work.
As for cleavage. Well if you have a lot you will see it.
On me I find the dress to be low cut.

And as you can see it is low cut on another one of my friends as well.
I loaned her my heidi in black cherry for her bday party.
she wanted to have fancy night :D

Thank you ladies for such quick and informative replies! All of your advice was valuable. And the pics were useful too! Ali it was your review I was referring to :) ... Sounds like the Heidi may work for me as I'm not very curvaceous and I could try it with a contrasting cami. I think I may just have to try it out. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you, Sarah. It's frustrating when cuts don't work on us sometimes. My big issue is arm length cos I'm so lanky!

I know :/ But I'm glad there are other forms out there that do work for me! I'm not as hourglassy as I might like to be, so maybe that's part of where it went wrong? Oh well. *shrug*  But good luck for yours!

I recently bought the red and cream heidi. I love it, but it's a little too big for me. I want to wear it for New Years, but don't have time to get it altered. The tag says dry clean, but it's 100% cotton. I was thinking about washing on delicate in cold water and the drying it at a higher heat. I'm worried the red will bleed into the cream though. I've washed other dry clean only dresses and they've been okay. Has anybody tried washing any red cotton PUG dresses or this particular Heidi dress? Thanks!
