Not sure we have a poll feature here, but I'm curious as to how many ladies do Wet Sets vs. Hot Roller Sets on their hair?

Can you also please mention the products you use while setting your hair?!

Thanks ladies!

If I want a day style, I'll do a wet set (although more like 70% dry after washing set) the night before. I have a lot of hair, but it's on the fine side, so even with a setting lotion I find the droop a little by the end of the day. So if I want curls for the evening, I use curling tongs and use my pin curl pins to hold the form until they have cooled - about 20 mins - the length of time it takes me to get dressed and put my face on! Remember, hair spray is your best friend!! I know everyone seems to recommend Ellenet, but it doesn't set the curl firm enough for me, so I use Tresemme freeze hold, and they do not shift!!! If I'm doing a wet set, I use lottabody setting lotion, although the results don't seem to make much difference compared to no setting lotion - any recommendations for a different one would be much appreciated!! Another tip, is that when I sleep in my set, instead of a regular hair net, I cover them with a under-wig cap (a thicker elasticated net) and that holds all the pins perfectly in place regardless of the night's sleep I've had! For those ladies with issues with frizzy ends - I've not had that issue myself, but I know a lot of black women use end papers to keep the ends frizz-free, because of their naturally thick, course hair. I have had no experience with hot rollers, but a lot of hairdressers have told me they're a waste of time, and you get good if not better results with tongs or straighteners.

Honestly, my favorite is a curling iron set. basically the same pattern I would use for a roller set, but I feel like the curler gets hotter so it stays better for me. I also spray a good deal of aerosol hairspray when it's set, a little before I set it, and then after it's all combed out and back combed. But second best for me is wet sets with the foam rollers for a tighter curl and the most hold! Also wet sets last for days with me!

I have three basic sets that i do.  One is a curling iron pin curl set. i use the same basic pattern that i do for pincurls with a curling iron and clip the curls and let it sit while im getting ready 30min - 2 hours sometimes. for this i use a working spary, and a freezing set non-arosal spray to set it (i use paul mitchell) after its styled. I also do a pin curl or foam roller set on damp hair, and brush out. I find that  my foam rollers frizz  less but the pin curls have better looking curl once you get them brushed out well. I like the curling iron set best most of the time.
