Sailor Swing Dress in Navy from Pin up couture

It was love at first sight. I love dressing up in vintage-like dresses - and have been sailing since I was a little girl. So it seemed like a match made in heaven when I saw this beauty on the Pin up girl clothing website.

A very happy girl just recieved her PUG dress.

I was a bit concerned about getting the right size the first time, since I live in Denmark, a return would not be as easy. But I found great help in the comments section and ended up getting a size small, because it said that fabric was extremely stretchy.

For reference my measurements are:

Bust:   32 inches

Waist: 26 inches

Hips:   33 inches

Height: 5 feet 5 inches

When the dress arrived I was amazed how nice and thick the fabric was, it falls very nicely and shows of your curves in all the right ways. As previously mentioned it is very stretchy, and I could actually easily have gone for an extra small, because of the stretch. I chose to keep the small, because I just could not bare to let it go again (yes yes, I know it's only a dress ;)).

The fit is very nice, and with ample room for a bigger chest. It is pretty low cut, so a normal cut bra will possibly show. I use a white strapless plunge bra, and it does the trick. You can also choose to go without, since the stretchy fabric holds you in good. The belt is without buckle, but it's in a thick quality and sits tightly, so it wont just fall of if you decide to do the sailor shuffle.

I am only 5.5 and bit short and stout - so the it was a bit long on me, even with a petticoat under it. So I chose to have it shortened a bit, so it falls just below my knees, and now it's even more perfect, and my legs does not look as short.

After I had it shortened.

The color is a vibrant navy, and goes very well with most skin tones, even a pale as a ghist  scandinavian like me ;) I now got a white petticoat to wear under it, and it just super cute and underlines the sailor look. The dress looks good without a petti too, but who doesn't love the girly and feminine feel of a petticoat.

All in all, I'm am so pleased I chose to get it, and I wear it when ever I get a chance, it is comfortable, it works for everything from family parties to festivals and the nautical look just instantly makes me feel happy, and girly. Sometimes I even put it on, just to run around in it at home - who cares if your overdressed, when you feel like a sailor from way back when :)

It doesn't really need a lot of accessories, because the dress it self is such a show stopper, and works both with a cute pair of flats or with heels. To get some color in there I sometimes smack on a red lip.

I can only say; get this dress, now. The smile that it puts on your(and everyone elses) face, is worth every penny!
