I can NOT be the only person having technical difficulties when it comes the these necessary nuisances. I am having a hellacious time trying to find tea-length petticoats for some of my summer dresses that just need a little extra "Oomph". :( All the ones I've seen have been "booty dusters" as my Nana calls them, or really expensive. Can ya'll recommend where a girl can find some "appropriate" petticoats at decent prices?

Please and Thank You,

Vickie Mesa :)

Unique Vintage sells petticoats in all different lengths! The prices are moderate, but the selection is wonderful.

Have you looked at any of the cosplay or lolita websites /eBay? The lolita style dresses are often right under the knee or tea length, so they sell crinoline and petticoats that are longer. They have crinoline style or hoop style with either steel or plastic hoops. I hope that helps you :)

I am actually trying to sell two chiffon petticoats that I have only worn once to try on. One is black and one is white. They are a little too long for what I was looking for. They are a size small and will fit waists 26" to 30".  I am asking $40.00 each (including shipping). The picture below shows what they both look like. Let me know if you are interested or just have a question.

I'm very interested, I just have to wait till Hubby gets paid Friday :/

Ok well just message me friday if you are still interested then and we can work out the details... Oh btw they are 25 inches long and can adjust to be 23 inches. Although Its a bit of a pickle trying to adjust them. lol

Absolutely!! I am new to PUG-y style, but I have had an awesome time on ebay buying actual vintage stuff... one of which is a petticoat/crinoline that is 25" long (I will probably have to have it taken up, because I am only 5'2, which means my dresses hit right about the knee). It has multiple layers (on the outer layer satiny material) of lace with flowers on it (when i get it next week, I'll post a pic, if you'd like). I only paid $21.50 (on auction, so I beat out a couple other bidders! yay me!), plus shipping. It's looks brand spanking new (again, I'll let you know for sure when I get it). I have seen most crinolines, including colored ones, in different lengths, go for about $20 plus shipping. A steal of a deal if you ask me. So that would be my suggestion: try ebay. And if you find one you love (like I did), be willing to fight for it (I went over my budget by $1.50, but was willing to go over by $5 if I had to, and the bidding for mine started at about $10). Good luck!

They have a section for vintage under their clothing tab - just make sure you click on clothing - not shoes or handbags. and you may have to scroll a couple of pages, but not very many... they are a seemingly popular sell in vintage clothes on ebay.

a long time coming, but here is the one I've already received (and worn multiple times with much delight!!). I've another one coming this week in the mail, totally different, which I'll post when I get it!

sorry for the graininess and coloring... it's only my cell, which is not one of the more modern smart phones w/ great cameras... working on that!

And here is the one I just received:

And this is how I wore it:

I purchased an awesome chiffon petticoat from: http://www.pettiskirtstyle.com/petticoatslip.htm So comfy and they are gorgeous.

So many pretty colors!! There are also crinoline (the scratchy stuff) in a bunch of colors too!

I purchased the 27" in chiffon for my Alika Bettie Page dress and it works in just about most of my PUGC (Evelyn and Heidi except for my Nettie, touch too long), Bettie Page and Trashy Diva dresses.

Hope this link helps! :)

I've had good luck on Amazon and Ebay.  I search for "poodle length crinoline" and I end up finding the right length (knee) for me.  I know I haven't paid more than $30 for any of them.

I've gotten a couple from here: http://www.sockdreams.com/products/accessories/petticoats/mid-lengt... style isn't the softest, but at $20 they're a great deal

I get mine from here (full disclosure, this is my friend's shop): http://store.vivcore.com/collections/petticoats

I like the lace ones for vintage dresses that need a little volume when I don't want to look all bouffant. Also, the length is adjustable on those -- there's 3 channels for the elastic so you can make them up to about 2" shorter (or longer)!
