I just saw a lady walk by (I'm near Pike Place Market) wearing the Bettie Page Side Effect in leopard, with matching leopard purse with red flower & red hair flower & tres cute black flats trimmed in red ... pushing a walker.  I hope when I'm that old I'm still a pinup too!

I was lucky enough to visit the new Bettie Page store here on Capitol Hill and get the Veronica on sale for only about $60 all told. It looks amazing on me and I got a hair flower at a shop down the street to match.  There's also a store on Capitol Hill that carries H&R London. And at Metro Clothing I saw a Voodoo Dolls ripoff of the Bettie Page Side Effect - much cheaper material but the same exact style. That made me a little sad.

I also saw an amazing burlesque show, Burlesque Affair, at the Century Ballroom.  This was the first time I saw burlesque in a setting where it wasn't a tip-oriented bar and it was pretty interesting to see a more staged production.  The girls all wore pinup style dresses for the first number - and I could in fact recognize most of the dresses (there were a couple PUG Natashas, Bettie Page Alikas, and other very classic dresses)!  My favorite number included a giant ballgown coming off and a fan dance, two elements of traditional burlesque I'd never seen in person. I was going to wear the Veronica but accidentally left the dress in a friend's car, so I wore a contemporary little black dress instead, but got tons of compliments anyway, so I'm guessing I did something right!

Other dress news: I got the Bettie Page Sunny Days very cheap from JBR Clothing, and a second Anna in red polka dot from Natalie Paddycakes on eBay. Very excited about the three new dresses!

Your shopping trip sounds lovely, congrats on the deal on the dress! Seattle is a really beautiful city. I actually work there!! BUT I work online so I've only ever actually been in the city twice!

I think the best burlesque I ever saw was at the Queen Calavera in Germany :)

That lady sounds like the kind of person I want to be when I grow up.

I really do love the folks at JBR. They have fairly good prices. And they are quite nice. And the store is very quiet so it is easy to get help. If any of you gals live in the eastern part of LA County or in the OC, JBR is a good place to check out. But most of their business is done online.

I will have to check out JBR... and it sounds like the kind of woman I can only hope to be when I grow up!! Your trip sounds like it was fabulous!
