Her own, to be exact!

I've been engaged for just over a year now, and my fiance and I have finally settled on a date!
Dates, actually.

We have family and friends in to separate states, Florida and Connecticut, so we decided to hold two ceremonies in both states to include everyone!

How does this relate to the PUG life?

Well, I've decided on one dress already!
I've had my eye on the Ava for quite a while, and now I've got a really good reason to splurge!
For the ceremony in Florida, I'll be wearing the Ava in Bridal White!
The Florida ceremony is mainly going to be the legal aspects of the wedding. Marriage licence, name changing, etc. But that doesn't mean I can't make the most of it!
We'll have two receptions, so I'll be able to show off the Ava to quite a few people and feel absolutely fabulous!

As for the Connecticut wedding, that will be the "traditional" one. Here comes the Bride and all that jazz.
So I'm looking for a PUG-gie wedding gown - I've been eyeing quite a few tea-length dresses, which is a great length for my frame.

Some of you know that I have trouble fixing my hair into the perfect 'do, since it's so straight and thin.
I think I'm going to get a short bob about a week in advance of the occasion and add a loose perm. If that doesn't work, pin curls here I come!

In other news,
my birthday was in April and I was treated to the Birdie Party Dress in Red Floral! Easily one of my favorites from PUG. However I noticed that the bust area is a bit loose (which is something new for me; I'm used to things squishing my girls!), so I wondered if anyone has paired it with a red or green camisole top underneath? Do you think that would look good?

oh congratulations! Do you want to wear PUG specifically or just something awesome and vintage looking? I h ave to admit that if I were choosing a dress for a wedding it would be the Monica in white or the Niagara in white although you might prefer more of a flared skirt!

Maybe instead of bobbing your hair you can actually curl it way up. You can add in a lot of volume by teasing it first and then it takes the curls a lot better. I have extremely thin straight hair so I know how it goes unfortunately :)

Thank you!
I'm definitely looking for something a bit more formal than what PUG has to offer for the ceremony in CT. I've been searching around for some vintage-inspired looks that fit my price range, since I'm a bit too busty and hippy for an actual vintage dress. I'm thinking a little bit princessy, since the FL dress is more racy (if you can call the Ava racy haha).

I've got to keep my hair short anyway (I work in the food industry), so the bob is probably going to have to be my go-to. But thanks for the advice, I'll definitely try that once I can move up in the work-force.

Hey Ellie Mae,

Congrats on setting the date(s) for your engagement.  I'm sure the white Ava will look beautiful on you, and it's very wedding appropriate.

As for the birdie dress, I personally am not a fan of adding camisoles to retro garments. Tailoring can do wonders and make a great dress the perfect dress. I have had many of my PUG garments taken in at the waist or top, and I think it's worth investing $10-20 to tailor a dress and have it fit perfectly.  You wouldn't need to worry about wearing anything underneath or fussing with the garment to make sure everything is contained!

Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't have any tailors near me, and sending the dress off to someone would cost just a bit too much. Normally I don't pair my PUG dresses with anything under them (outside of proper shapewear/undergarments) but it seems like this would be my only option.

taking a dress in isn't all that hard actually :) if the only real problem is the bust you should be able to pick out the seam with a thread hook and then just shorten it to make it smaller. I would have to see the exact dress to be certain though.

Hope your search for a wedding gown is going well!

I might just sew the lapels together, where it starts to become a hassle - that really my problem. The lapels are too loose around my bust.

I've got a few dresses I want to try on actually! And they're all within my price range, which makes me even happier!
