Has anyone made their hair like super platinum blonde, white almost? I'm trying to get that color but for some reason my natural dark ash blonde hair tends to pull golden and yellow tones... I heard something about toning the hair with a violet, but I'm not quite sure. I don't want to pay for a professional to do it, but I suppose if my hair gets messed up really bad I will have to anyway...any suggestions?

(picture below is the color I want to achieve)

In order to get a pale, pale blonde you will need to tone with a violet.  Shades EQ 9V is the best toner.  Bleach your hair until it is a very pale yellow (white will either never come, or severely damage your hair), rinse, dry, and then afterward put the toner on.  Put the toner on DRY hair.  Some stylists put it on wet hair to be quicker, but it doesn't stay for nearly as long.

I also recommend doing a treatment on your hair to restore the protein.

I also recommend using a purple shampoo to maintain the cooler blonde tones.  I use the GENERIC brand from Sally's and it works just as well as Clairol Shimmerlights.

If your hair is naturally blonde, it is most likely doable.  I have a med-dark brown head of hair and I naturally pull very, very yellow and brassy so it took me a few bleach applications to get a pale blonde (still not platinum!).  If you naturally do still pull very warm after the bleach is on your head for a while, be patient and rinse and repeat after a week and a protein treatment (depending on the condition of your hair).  Bleaching takes away 10-15 % of your hair's protein every time you do it so be careful.

Thank you!!! I'm going to try my best! :)

I am going to be having this done soon. I have a friend at the Aveda School hr ein DSM, Iowa and she comes back Sept. I am having her doing it and maybe add a touch of pink

If your hair is light enough, like mine, I can use drug store brand dye and get it pretty darn light. I then use Violet shampoo from Paul Mitchell and leave it in my hair for a while in the shower. ( the longer you leave it in the lighter your heair tends to get). Thats what I do for mine and I have been blonde for most of my life no.w =)

For the purple shampoo do you know if that works with all puprle shampoos or jsut paul mitchell?

I have only used that brand and it has worked the best for me. I would guess that all violet shampoos work the same.

another good one is Shimmering Lights by Clairol and So Silver by (I wanna say) Matrix.

Also, this: http://kristadior.kristardesign.com/tag/manic-panic-virgin-snow/  she lays it out in an easy to understand, step by step tutorial for DIY

My hair with age has turned a more dishwater blonde... I used Feirra and it turns out very nice... I go from very light to natural light blonde. I think the shades are Champange and candle glow/light??? Been using this for years.
