Pin curls on very short hair?

Hi all! I'm in a 40's inspired wedding on August 13th. I've been trying hard to grow my hair out but unfortunately it started out as a mohawk so I've got a long ways to go.

My hair is shorter in the back, longer in the front. It's a little longer than a pixie cut. Has anyone ever tried pin curls on hair that short?

Any other ideas to help get that vintage look on super short hair? I know it's a stretch, but I gotta try.

I've included a couple pics of my  haircut to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Pin curls should work. But have you thought about Finger Waves??? Or the Pixie was big..I would look at the flapper style pixie...Hope that helps

Try out both..If you're the creative type you could probably mix them in the same style

What about finger waves with a pretty pin or clip at the side?  I think pin curls would make it too fluffy.

If you do finger waves you should use Lotta Body setting lotion. It helps a lot. You can get it at a beauty supply store.

In case anyone was curious about what I ended up doing...

I went to salon and left it up to the professionals!

They done a gr8 job, try wearing u hair up 2 bed, thats what my sister done when she was growing hair back, u may look a bit weird, with little piggy tales all over your head, but it grow quicker, from the pulling, hope it all goes well 4 u  :)
