hey ladies,

i should maybe start by introducing myself...my name is christina and i'm an L.A. native who has always loved vintage style, though have gone through many a different phase over the years in terms of style/makeup/hair/etc.

i started learning how to do my own hair in vintage styles early this year and am always on the lookout for tips and tricks, especially since i have to keep my prep time reasonable in the mornings.

i've looked at the different types of bonnet dryers and such out there, but reviews are so inconsistent.  have any of you used either the type that attach to your blowdryer or the independent units?  the hard case style dryers don't necessarily seem like an ideal thing for me, but i'd be interested in hearing experiences using any of them.

maybe i'll see some of you on saturday :)

I've used both. either give me a good set but I prefer sitting under a fixed Dyer reading a magazine. I have long heavy hair and it takes ages to dry but a wet set will give me three days of good curls without them dropping.

I've been wondering the same thing!

I came across this number today...Conair Pro Soft Bonnet Attachment.  I picked it up today and am going to give it a spin this weekend.  I figured for the cost, it was worth a shot.

I'll let you know how it works :)

I just feel like a 'lady' when I'm sitting in my bonnet or upright dryer with my hair in rollers, reading a 50s magazine. Ah bliss!!!!! :)

i bit the bullet and ordered this one: Gold 'N Hot Soft Bonnet Dryer

i hope it works well.  luckily i can return it to an actual sally location if i don't like it.  i'd like something that i can be a bit more mobile while using, so i went with the soft bonnet rather than a fixed hard bonnet dryer.

Jenn, did you get any good results with the one you ordered?

I googled some online and am fiding them on Ebay. I would rather have something Vintage for the cost than even brand new but thought the cap bonnet over the standing would be more compact and I could hear the world aroundme :)
