Who, in your opinion, are the really good Hawaiian and swing/tiki lounge artists, old and new? I'm always looking for a new listen. I have Hawaiian All-Stars, and Iz on my playlist, but I'd love…Continue

I first saw this show when I was five years old. This beloved Disney attraction was the basis of my life-long love of parrots and birds, as well as Hawaiiana and Polynesian themes.
I have never been to Hawaii, but it is going to happen. I feel sometimes that I am destined for Hawaii.
Comment by Christine on July 3, 2012 at 11:47am I too was entranced by the Disney World Polynesian attraction...its probably not a coincidence that I also fell in love with Lilo & Stitch (I know, I'm not the only that cried during the Ohana scene). That said, my husband started a tiki collection a few years ago and as I started to learn more about the Poly-Pop culture I became increasingly fascinated by it. I've recently joined a tiki group here in my hometown and am looking forward to learning more about the fashion, decor, and especially the cocktails.

I have a smallish collection of Hawaiian, swing, and rockabilly music, mostly on iTunes. "Facing Future", by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole is one of my favorites. Although it isn't really what I think of as 'Tiki' (that Hawaiian lounge swing mai-tai-cocktails vibe), it's lovely music.
