I recently purchased the Rago 1294 open bottom girdle, however it is too big. I bought the medium (28in waist) because that was the smallest size they make it in, but was disappointed upon its arrival when I tried it on and it was way too big. Does anybody know of any similar ones that come in a smaller waist size? I like the high waist of the 1294, it helps with the "back bulge" that a lot of girdles tend to create. Also I am looking for an open-bottom with garter clips, I really hate the "shorts" shapers. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks ladies!

Hi
I understand your frustration the same has happened to me. I am a TV Gurl (I like to be honest) and have found that when in doubt I buy a smaller girdle than I need.
Open bottom all in ones are wonderful, check out Ebay as here are some great offerings from sellers in England and also check out www.secretsinlace.com
Good luck in your search.

Permalink Reply by Victoria Garcia on February 4, 2013 at 1:22am I have a 26in waist, and I have trouble finding girdles in my size as well. My girdle is the Elizabeth from SIL. It isn't as high waisted as the 1294, but to combat that I wear a Rago waist cincher underneath and tuck the top of that into my bra. It doesn't create any extra bulges under my girdle, just gives a bit more of a defined waist. :) If you like I can post pictures of this combination by itself and under clothes so you can see how it looks.
Permalink Reply by Natalie on February 5, 2013 at 10:18am I bought a black full slip that served as a girdle and came with 4 detachable garter straps in a size small (I have a 27" waist) that was available at JCPenny and Macy's last month:

I tried to find a link to this item on JCPenny and Macy's right now but it doesn't show up so you'll probably have to check at the actual store. I've liked this one so far because it's small enough to smooth everything out, hides any bulges by your bra line, and you can avoid having the slip ride up if you have the garters attached to your nylons. The only negative is that I can't wear it with halter top dresses =/
Permalink Reply by Chrystal Allen on April 11, 2013 at 10:12am I see this thread is a bit old, but thought I'd add my two cents anyway. The Rago 9357 (I own one if you have questions) is an open bottom with garters, but it's a full body briefer, not a girdle. You could also try the Cortland 79, it's probably more what you're looking for, it's like a corset for your bum.
