Can anyone give me tips on how the Vamp dress looks on people with a bit of a belly pouch?

You probably have an older model. They slightly change designs almost every season.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks!

What if any undergarments do you guys recommend for under the dress to smooth things out (namely the tummy)? The top?

Jessica Meloche over at Pinuppersuasion.com has some great reviews with a lot of pictures on Rago shapewear - it's vintage repro, decent price point and her reviews and especially her pictures, are super helpful.  I've bought a couple of pieces after seeing and being inspired by her posts.  http://pinuppersuasion.com/tag/rago/   I've also seen some great posts here, specifically one of the difference between corsets and shapewear..  tried to find it but couldn't, but there is a lot on shapewear, rago, corsets, etc on this site.

If your Vamp is tight on top you won't need a bra at all.  If it's not you'll probably need a half cup or balconette bra, because of the low neckline.   WIth my vamp I wear the Rago 1294.

Thank you! Is there anything you recommend for under the top if anything?

And if we go to the boutique are we allowed to try on shapers? (If they have them?)

Sorry, I haven't been to the boutique, I don't know, although I'm sure they will have a lot of advice to give.  Another option - any good department store with a decent lingerie section will have a shapewear selection - this seems to have really taken off.  If you aren't keen on ordering online, just take your dress with you, find some bras and shapewear and try it all on to see what works the best.  I do feel that the Rago 1294 with a black bra works really well for me - it also looks pretty sexy, so if I am seen in it I don't feel ridiculous - like if I get caught in a pair on spanx (NOT attractive.  or sexy).

I used a rago extra firm shaper with spandex shorts to smooth out the itty-bitty bumps from the clasps.

Thanks for the answers to everything y'all. I really want a vamp but I needed to get these things sorted out before giving it a shot at the store.

Thanks to Ellie Mae for making the thread!

Can't wait to see if I can wiggle myself into one & if I have any trouble getting in & out & figuring out the interesting zipper (which if I remember was a little different didn't it go upside down) next time like I did the last.

Maybe I can wear a shaper underneath the top if I want a little extra slimmin?

Love the look so, fingers crossed! Thanks again!

Mine has a regular zipper, actually.

The Vamp dress zipper goes up as per usual, but top zips downwards same as the Doris top. I actually think its easier to do up and means the waist can be tighter than regular tops where you have to get your shoulders/bust past the waist section.

SaBreena, you could always try a shaper under the top if you feel you need it? While you don't need to wear a bra with it, I feel a good one works wonders and might do more than a shaper in terms of fit though.

Good luck!
