To Buy a Fur Coat or Not to Buy a Fur Coat (That is the Question)

Okay, so one of my favorite stores has a beautiful Faux grey fur coat on sale for 70 euro (that's about $94), and I can't decide if it is a must have or not. I really love it but how wearable do you ladies think fur is??

help!

That's a great price for some pretty faux fur :)  I have this cool black retro style coat that has a faux fur collar and that was $130.00 (got that a few years ago). As for how wearable it will be I think has more to do with the climate you live in. Do you get winters or visit somewhere often that would allow you to wear something like that?

I bought it!

:), and uhm, there are about 8 months of winter here ha!

I figure it's faux and sort of shaggy so I can pair it with jeans and big sunglasses and go for 70s retro as well as 50s so more versatile :)

Awesome, yes that'll definitely work :)

I would really like to expand my coat wardrobe. Mostly I'm looking to get a lighter fitted trench coat for the in between seasons. The one I have now although beautiful, is more for late autumn through the winter. OH, I had a full length coat years ago...kinda light tan in color that was velvet-y faux suede on the outside and had a faux fur lining, collar and sleeve cuffs. It was pretty sexy :) They only size they had though was a bit too big for me, but I rocked it for a while anyway. Was thinking of having it altered to be more fitted, but just didn't have the money. I ended up donating it. I'd LOVE to find something like that again as well.

Great topic :)

This is the one that I picked, can absolutely wear it with my Monica as soon as my sister in law brings it back (after a month LOL)

I used to have a tan one that was very light and thin, it was reversible suede so you could wear it with fur lining or as a fur coat I loved it but as it was vintage (I found out the company went out of business before I was born) it eventually wore out due to heavy use. My style has changed a bit since then but... fuzzy :)

someone should start a post on styling fur coats :)

Fur is very wearable, though it will attract attention.  If you are uncomfortable, maybe start out with a fur trimmed coat and work your way up to full length fur. I have a few furs and fur trimmed pieces and I love them.
