With summer here in Canada, comes to August Long Weekend (August Civic Holiday). My Fiance and I are driving from where we are in Canada (Winnipeg) and driving 8 hours south to Minneapolis for a long weekend of shopping and stuff. We are going to MOA (Mall of America) to visit their Nordstrom Rack, and the Bettie Page Clothing store, but does anyone on here know of any other shops that sell PUG/Bettie Page Clothing in Minneapolis? I'm a size 18, but would also be looking for neat shoe stores too! (size 6.5).
Thanks for any tips!
Im not sure who else wholesales PUG, but theres great vintage!!! Go to GO Vintage and Lula's in St. Paul, they organize theyre vintage by waist sizes!
thank you for the tips! it's much appreciated!
I used to live two blocks from those stores; it was murder on my wallet because they're fabulous. Also check out UpSix on the same intersection. They tend to have more kitschy 60s-90s stuff than Go or Lula, but you can find some good 40s-50s stuff, too. They organize by color rather than size, so browsing is a little tougher. If you know a guy who needs a nice tropical or bowling shirt, send him there; they had a ton last time I was in.
Succotash is also in Saint Paul, and while their clothing selection tends to be pretty limited, if you want to do your house up in retro style, they always have adorable and authentic mid-century furniture and housewares.
I never seem to find anything I like at Tatters, but I'll definitely be checking out The Corner Store and Via's soon.
I'm gonna piggy-back on this, and thanks to you Doris too... I'm a red coat from across the pond :P but travel to St Paul 2/3 times a year for work. The MOA kinda softens the blow of a 9 hours flight! I'll be sure to check out your recommendations when I fly out next month Doris! x
I wish we could get PUG here in Minneapolis. Love Bettie Page. Like Doris said we have great vintage. I was just vintage shopping in Minneapolis today - I got this killer Lurex suit at The Corner Store in Minneapolis.
B Squad Vintage, Blacklist Vintage, and Via's Vintage are also great in Minneapolis. I'm totally checking out the places Doris recommended in St. Paul!
ahhh yes! Corner Store and Tatter's I LOVE!! Also, blacklist is really good! You'll be limited on sizes though for Corner Store and Tatter's, just a heads up!
** This is really making me miss the midwest!
haha. no...never miss it. it's freezing!
I never have good luck at Tatter's - I have to keep trying I guess. I was pleasantly surprised at The Corner Store. I was in there last about a year ago and found nothing. I found quite a few things this time! Its all about the hunt with vintage shopping. Blacklist never seems to have anything in my size but I love browsing. Darn those 50's girls and their 24 inch waists (that I will never have without organ or rib removal LOL).
Here I am trying to plan a shopping trip to Minneapolis for Easter long weekend, so of course I google "Pinup Girl Clothing Minneapolis" and a link to this page comes up, posted by none other than the very stylish and positively darling Sandy Francis!
Thanks for the post dear, I'll be using all these suggestions as well, hope all is well!
