Hello ladies-

So for Christmas, I bought my middle sister the Monica in black, but as it turns out, she's a 2x not an XL. So I'm selling the dress, and now I'm back to square one of looking for the perfect dress for her...here's why I am asking for help:

My sister Laura tends to dress like a man from cape cod in the 1990's (think turtlenecks, rugby shirts and cardigans), and my other sister and I have been struggling for years to get her to sex it up a little bit!  We've even playfully threatened to torch her white turtleneck collection and replace it with Victorias Secret or Frederick's pieces instead...

Although she's somewhat afraid of her own sexuality, she also has recently bought a pair of high hell leather boots - which my sister and i took as a sign of the Mayan year, and its winds of change. So I'm trying to gently break her in with a PUG dress...especially since she just recently found her soulmate, and they're getting very serious. I want to have her wear something that will wow her boyfriend.

Any suggestions?? I was thinking about the Ava Dress, but I'm not sure if it's too low cut for her (she has a big chest.) Anyone have any ideas?

You are a super nice sister! :) The Ava is low cut but in the right size provides coverage. How about the film noir? That is sexy yet provides coverage.
Good call! Now i just have to find one in her size...thanks Amber! :)

Maybe the Heidi dress? It's true that it is such a versatile and flattering style - I just got one in the cat print :) you could go for a less wild colour and it's knee length so it's not TOO daring. The bust area is so flattering but it's low cut compared to a turtleneck. You definitely want something she will feel comfortable in :) Is she happy with her current wardrobe?

I looked at the Heidi, and actually, yeah! That would work on her! I was thinking about the Heidi in red with the white bow...Thanks for the suggestion!

She claims to love her "current" wardrobe...but she keeps telling me that she's feeling more adventurous....She's about to get a taste of it, that's for sure. LOL

I love that one! Is that the dark red colour? It's such an amazing combination and super sexy and classy too. Very versatile :) I'd love to hear what you choose in the end and whether she likes it! It would be great for other people who are trying to convince others to try PUG :P

ps lol turtlenecks rugby shirts and cardigans = such a random collection! How do they work together!? A cardigan and a rugby shirt!? hahahah! I love cardigans! But I wouldn't be caught dead in a rugby shirt and I can't see myself in a turtleneck unless I was freezing cold lol :P

What about a Jessica Wiggle? you could get it in black so it's super versatile, not overly sexy but will still wow the boyfriend, pair it with a nice spanx legging and her new heels and she'll look classy and sexy, :)

I hadn't thought about that.  Thanks Brandy!

I'd say if her wardrobe has masculine tendencies and she's comfortable with it many of the PUG dresses are going to be a bit much. As with an introduction, I think it's good to start slow at a nice pair of LB Black Label capris or slacks, flats, and maybe the Harrison top instead of going full on sex kitten since it'll probably make her feel uncomfortable and she won't enjoy it as much. If that fails, maybe just accepting her non-feminine dressing will be just fine too, nothing wrong with our style differences!

I forgot to mention that she also has a HUGE collection of Lilly Pulitzer dresses. (We're talking 12-15 dresses, and not all shifts either).

I'll figure it out. Thank you Rayleen for your advice, and you're right - nothing wrong with style differences....but my sister has me for a sister....so I'm going to get her something even if she doesn't like it! That way I can't say that I never tried. :)

actually you could sort of get a pencil skirt with a nice vamp top for a sexy compromise that she can wear with a turtleneck if she's feeling less va va voom for the day  :)

LOL! Bonnie that is too funny! Don't give up. The owner Laura has some really fantastic photos of her in PUG, but not dresses and she looks fabulous! I mean, really great. She has some on the PUG FB page. Have you been able to pinpoint the shape of dress she likes? One of the Lana's sound like it might be an option if she likes a tailored and covered bust, but enjoys a fuller skirt like some LP styles. Also wearability is a factor since it can be dressed up or down. It's unseasonably warm where I am in GA so I'm still wearing my summer dresses(Sadie if she enjoys loud prints)! x
