Hi! I bought a Rago shaping girdle last year and I bought the style without the garter straps for stockings. I want to add the garter straps now, but I don't how to do that. I guess I'll have to go to a tailor. Is there anything else I need to buy to do this? I think I've read some of you doing this, so that's why I'm turning to you for help. Help! Here's the Rago waist cincher I bought: http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/extra-firm-shaping-girdle-in-black...
Thank you!

If the cincher doesn't already have the loops at the bottom, get a spool or package of 1/2" grosgrain ribbon. Cut the ribbon to 1" lengths and fold in half. Stitch the folded ribbon to the cincher to make the loop for the strap to slip into. . One in front, back and side. 4 or six straps will do the trick but 6 keeps the stockings from moving around more. Another option is the skip all this and get a pair of suspender hose to slip on underneath and still get the stocking look without the garter clip bump that shows in tight fitting skirts. They come in nude, seamed and black.
I hope I explained it well enough. It's not difficult to do, but it is difficult to describe.

Permalink Reply by Joanne Opazo on February 14, 2013 at 9:39am The garter stockings are great. i love that they stay n have a wide lace band. Just be careful cleaning and taking off they will get tangled and making the the right way to wear again is crazier then a tangled necklace
