Rago Shapewear - The Original Innovator in Mid Century Under Garments

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of shapewear.  If you just glance at my blog 'Fuller Figure Fuller Bust' you will see evidence of my corset addiction.  If you read on a bit further you will come across a number if shapewear and cincher reviews, as I tried to find my perfect stomach tamer.  I must admit I thought I had found The One.  It pulled me in, smoothed me out, yes it was a little tricky to pee through but a girl has to make sacrifices!

During my search I tried a basic Rago waist cincher but I did not get along well with it.  The style was too short for my body and didn't take my waist and hip difference into account.  I was disappointed as everyone raved about Rago, but my body was having none of it.

Recently I was offered the chance to try out the '1294' Rago.  I was hesitant to give it a go, however I am a sucker for the pin up look and it definitely ticked that box.  I optimistically went for an XL for my 48-33-48 shape - it turned out to be a bit too small but the magic was still there.
The 1294 was the perfect length on me, even after navigating my rather large derriere.  I liked the fact that it zipped up rather than had hooks and eyes - who doesn't like convenience?  It fitted me like a glove and cared not about my chubby hourglass shape.  My tummy felt flat and smooth and my bottom looked marvellously perky!  The XL was a tad tight around my thighs, another indicator that the 2XL would be perfect all over.  I teamed the Rago with some black hold ups and actually managed to get my boyfriend to look away from the football for a few seconds!  It's official - not only is the 1294 the best piece of shapewear that I have tried, it's also damn sexy!
Here are some before and after shots of me wearing it under my XL Erin in green.

It's a dress that I would not wear with hosiery and so I tucked the tucked the clips up under the bottom of the Rago and it worked perfectly.

Rago has been producing shapewear for fifty years and it is one of the most talked about brands put there.  They were and are an American company who paid great attention to detail when it came to crafting that perfect piece of shapewear.  They took customer feedback very seriously and based their pieces around people's wants and needs, constantly evolving to suit them.

I have a new found love and respect for Rago.  I love the way the company has stood the test of time and I love my new silhouette.  Top marks for Rago.

I did as it is a bit tight, but nothing like the usual longer shapers x

I usually wear a bicycle short type high waisted shaper - not as firm as the Rago appears. I need the flexibility of being able to go up/down/sideways/backwards/all over the freaking place while I'm at work without ride-up or funkiness. Would you recommend the 1294 for this or would you recommend sticking with what I've got? (I've had it a couple of years, and since I wear it damn near everyday, I am looking for something else to add to the rotation). Thanks Georgie!! (and by the way, <3 your blog & the anti-body snark stance! Thank you for that!)

=) Jenn

So, the important question that should be answered of all shapewear: can you easily use the toilet in that shaper?
