I know, I know every PUGster raves about the Monica dress. But I thought I'd share the mystery of this dress and it's impact in my life to add to the inspiration.
Four years ago I had a bad fall, injured my hip, gained weight through long recovery, and became depressed to the point of not even wanting to get out of my pyjama's. I was lost in a funky fog and didn't recognize myself in the mirror anymore. Any sense of identity was blurred away with the growing 70+ pound layers of…Continue
So last night I decided to look online at a big UK chain clothing retailer who has a store near to me. I need/want a "proper" coat for summer - something that will work with skirts & dresses on cooler days, and for work (I leave the house just after 6am, so it's usually cool at that time of day for at least another month or so).
The website loaded, and as I hovered over the 'women' menu and looked for 'coats & jackets' my eyes came to rest on a heading that read '£10…Continue

This is a post from our personal blog Junebugs and Georgia Peaches but we thought it had a home here and decided to share it with you guys! We'd love to hear what you think whether you're a seasoned PUG shopper or a first time buyer.…Continue
Having seen so many absolutely fabulous photos on here of women of all different shapes and sizes and ages; I just wanted to make sure that everyone on here is aware of the instagram competition if they aren't already!
So many of your photos have helped me decide what to buy, and I know for many of you PUG will have changed your life as much as it has mine! I'd hate to see anyone on here miss out, you're all so beautiful and it's great being a new member of a community of people all…Continue
It's Movie Night!
The Flower in her hair, the sexy pin curls. Dorothy’s look in this film is timelessly vintage.
Where’s your popcorn kids? It’s Movie Night… Tonight's feature? Carmen Jones…

So for once this post made it to Pinup Girl Style before it got posted on my personal blog, Junebugs and Georgia Peaches but that just means y'all get to see it first! I'm sure all my fellow literary pinups are cringing at the title, but my other option was "You Can Stand Under my Umbr-ELLA" and well... I don't want anyone standing under my dress. ; )
I cannot begin to explain how excited I was 5 months ago…Continue
Hey guys! It's me Tahita again and I just wanted to direct you to my latest blog post over at Great Lake Pinup where although the focus on the blog is the Pin Up Bikini (it's very popular this year), I want you ALL to know that one of the greatest pairings that any pinup girl will ever have with any vintage bathing suit and swimwear is the Wonder Wrap Top from right here at…Continue
Since my teens, I've pretty much been dancing to the beat of my own drummer; in fact, I can genuinely remember the one and only time in my teens I liked a fashion trend, rather than just wearing what I liked (Leanna and others from the UK may remember the slouchy boots that were generally worn with mini skirts - that was the first time in a long time I'd worn a skirt).
Anyway, the point I'm attempting to get at (badly, of course ;) ) is that - at least as far as clothes are concerned…Continue

I love Pinup culture, and pinup style. On the daily you can find me me with thick black winged eyeliner, red lips, and extremely teased hair. I dress in a collection of vintage dresses, and PUG dresses of course, most of the time. So when an event comes up that allows me to go all out, and show off my pinup style 100% and have it be appreciated, I jump at it. Some events that have been popping up are "pinup contests." I have only participated in 2, as I am not sure how I feel about…Continue
Here's another carry-over post from the blog I co-write, Junebugs and Georgia Peaches. Since these are items PUG carries, I thought it would be a great place to share.Continue
Good Evening Darlings;
It's Canada Day weekend, and I thought that while I watched the too-early fireworks from my balcony window would be the perfect time to try to string together all my thoughts over the PUG Changed My Life contest and results...
I'm going to start by addressing what I am sure most people are wondering; of course I was disappointed when I didn't win the trip. So were all the other hundreds of entrants. My joy that Allie, someone who had felt like she was…Continue
Back in the PUG day, starting around 2006, Masuimi & I would do photo shoots for Pinup Girl. Masuimi has been modeling for the website since 2004, but until 2006 my homie Octavio (NSFW) did most of the shoots for the site, including this famous photo of Masuimi in the original Greta Dress:…Continue
Hey everyone! I've finally recovered enough from the jet lag and a VERY late arriving flight to sit down and tell you how Viva Las Vegas went. In one word, I would say...
I literally had the best vacation of my life at Viva, so if you all have a minute or two I'd be happy to tell you all about my very first trip to Las Vegas and my first time going to the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly…
Hey everyone! It's me Tahitia again, and if you're ready I'd love to share with you part two of my adventure in Las Vegas at the Viva Rockabilly Weekend!
So with the big recap and list of to do's for next year out of the way, it's time we reviewed what exactly I picked up in Vegas.
Bordello Military Themed T-Strap Platform Pump
This is now the biggest shoe that I've ever worn. The…Continue
I want to share more candid VLV pics - many of these were taken by my dear friend Julie. You can also catch up on my day by day account of Viva on my blog - www.pinupatheart.wordpress.com.
Firstly these girls were awesome! They were Brits and I love their style.…Continue
I've been a busy gal!
+ Pin Up Plus: I purchased my first sewing machine! My mom is visiting and she is teaching me how to sew, and the first project we accomplished was taking in the sides of this white cardigan to be more form-fitting:
I got the step-by-step tutorial from the Elegant Musings blog, here: …Continue
Just like every other vintage loving lady, I find myself obsessing over old photographs of woman done up. Whether it be to the 9's, or to a ballgame, I love seeing what color combos they came up with outfits, their jewelry, shoes, accessories, everything! Back then they didn't have to 'try' to look 1950s... they just were- hah!
One thing I always notice but…Continue
This week I had an amazing opportunity to be a guest on the Nuvo TV show Curvy Girls! Our episode was being taped in one of the HOTTEST spots in Las Vegas, NV Firefly. I knew I needed a standout outfit, hair & makeup to really make a good impression so I naturally decided to swing by the Pinup Girl Boutique in Burbank, CA. Thanks to the lovely Justine & Carole I decided to go with the new Folly Flair Mermaid Dress in Black & Red. Here's a photo of me in the shop trying on this…Continue
Greetings fellow PUGsters!
Although I have been intermittently creeping on this site for some time, I have yet to post any pictures or info about myself, so I thought now is as good of a time to start as any other.
My PUG creation myth begins like that of many others, so I will skip over the details. When I was 8 years old, my family immigrated to Brooklyn (from the former Soviet Union) and here began my truly formative years. Needless to say, being 8 years old and trying to…Continue
I guess that I am going to give you the long detailed version of this event and how it happened. The original genesis of this was when Christina Sangre posted to the Ladies of Los Angeles group about scheduling a Meet Up. Due to her busy life, she was not able to put anything together as she had hoped. But I am sure that she will make something happen in the future and I want to thank her for bringing us all together. So I decided that it might be fun to do a small Meet Up. Well, a…Continue
