Hey everyone! It's me Tahitia again. Earlier today I was reading through all the compliments girls have received on the best/funniest compliment you've received while wearing PUG clothing and I started to think of how the compliments really have come in a wide range of situations, occasions and types of get togethers. Basically a compliment in a PUG outfit can come any time in any outfit is what I took away from the thread.
So I was wondering, out of all our respective PUG outfits and all the get togethers, social occasions and events that we've been to since we started buying PUG, what is everyone's favourite outfit for which occasion?
Occasions like a best friends wedding reception in June, a wine and cheese party at a friends apartment in the winter time, a Labour Day party at the beach at night, church on Easter Sunday or any other religious event, a family Christmas or Holiday party with the grandparents and inlaws, a trip to the local mall or farmers market on a Saturday afternoon with the special person in your life and or a girls night out with your girlfriends from college.
There are so many places and times to wear PUG, ordinary AND extraordinary, so if you have a minute or two feel free to share which of your PUG outfits you like to wear to what place :)
Thanks and take care everyone!
Great topic Tahitia! My plum Ava is my go to dress for really special occasions - like a gala or formal wedding. I love my tiki print netti for summer! I wore it to a birthday party in July and to dinner at a tiki bar called Psycho Suzi's in Minneapolis. I haven't gotten her out yet, but my blue Heidi will be going to the 4th of July with me (if it isn't too hot I'll throw a red crinoline under for some patriotic flair). I've worn my black vamp top with a black full circle skirt for my husband art opening in the summer. I threw on a bolero black sweater, red crinoline and poinsettia in my hair to make it holiday appropriate for my work holiday party and Christmas Eve. And lastly my blue Birdie did the trick for a night out at a very retro supper club for dinner (and was featured in my holiday card photos!).
Amber those are all great dresses and even more fun sounding occasions. I'm a huge fan of the tiki Netti too and I wore it all the time in the summer as well. Yes the blue Heidi will definitely be perfect for the 4th of July, especially if you are able to wear that red crinoline too :) Would you ever think about wearing a white shrug with it for the whole red, white and blue colour set? :)
I never thought of wearing a poinsettia in my hair before around Christmas, would you mind if I "borrowed" that idea? ;)
I remember your blue birdie from your holiday card pics and wow was that dress made for you!
I have a whole collection of PUG swing dresses (Ginger/Netti/Courtesan) and I'd say you can wear them pretty much everywhere! I wear the Nettis when I go thrifting, although I did get snubbed once in a Ginger at a vintage warehouse because I was wearing "repro". I was going to wear the Courtesan (victorian rose) to a wedding once, but think it would look equally cute to wear on a date!
Jamie those are all beautiful dresses! I think I remember you mentioning getting snubbed before because the Ginger was a repro, that was really rude of whoever had said that and totally uncalled for, it's a gorgeous dress and I bet you looked amazing in it :)
I can see the Courtesan definitely working for a wedding and a date too, that's one of PUG's best dresses if you ask me.
Alright it's time for my two cents on this thread :)
I like the Netti in blue withwhite polka dots or navy blue with sailor print for walks in the summer time, and of course the Netti in Tiki print for summer time patio parties at night. For a formal party or get together the Birdie Party Dress in black is definitely my favourite, and you can't go wrong with the Sandra either in jade or red for the holidays.
For a trip to the mall or the farmers market the Retro Rockabilly Dinner Dress would definitely be in order, for a beach party maybe one of the Wonderful Wrap Tops with either PUG's High Wasited Shorts or their high waisted bikini bottoms, the Erin in berry for a wedding, any of the Joanie Top's with the Perfect Pencil Skirt in black for work or business meetings, and the Heidi in leopard for a night out with the girlfriends :)
Thanks to everyone who's shared their outfits and occasions so far and keep them coming ladies :)
