Some of my PUG dresses are clearly marked DRY CLEAN ONLY (like the Erin dress) but others (like my new Lauren tops) say that you can machine or hand wash them. Anyone dry cleaning everything? I'd like to keep the clothes as fresh and lovely for as long as possible and dry cleaning seems like the best way to go. Any advice and or experience with this? Thanks!

I handwash some stuff like my pencil skirts and Doris tops because they can be crumpled and loose shape in the wash. I really wouldn't want to spring for dry cleaning for my everyday stuff but if it's special occasion only then I think dry-clean only is fine

Usually hand wash or washing on a delicate cycle is fine for anything with stretch, just make sure you use colder water so that it doesn't run or fade as much, and then avoid the dryer whenever possible!

I haven't had the need to wash any of my 'new' PUG stuff yet; but last time I had some one item was a cotton skirt - red, with black skull print kick flares right around it and lace edging.  I adored the skirt (as an aside, if anyone can remember what this was called please tell me (if you have to sell, especially please tell me!!)), and wore it often; but it said 'dry clean only' :-/

When it needed washed, I firstly consulted the internet to see if there was a reason why a 100% cotton garment would need dry cleaned, and I couldn't find one.  At the time I had a snazzy washing machine which had a hand wash function, so I stood and watched it "hand wash" in cold water in slight trepidation.  Needless to say it came out just fine, and was washed in a similar fashion a number of times again.

However, the Bridgette dress which I've recently bought (if I keep it, I'm not sure on the length) is dry clean only, and I'm not sure what I would do with that, I think I'd need to do some "fibre research" first (lol)

Good question! I want to wash my Harley but it says "dry clean only" - I was contemplating washing on the delicate cycle too... I'll wait to see what everyone's experiences have been.

I washed a vamp top (on delicate and cold) and then laid flat to dry and it hasn't been the same  :( It seems to have shrunk a bit even though it didn't go in the dryer, either that or I got bigger.  I'm not really sure lol.  I have washed my Luscious dress a few times and it turned out fine.  I've never dry-cleaned anything, I haven't tried to wash anything else though other than spot cleaning because my clothes don't really get that dirty.  I always wear a slip and the dress doesn't touch my skin in very many places, tip from my grandma to make clothes last longer :) If in doubt follow the care instructions, but I think most things can probably be at least hand washed.

While having a wonder around town earlier today (and spending an insane amount of money on pretty things for my hair!) I saw that Dr Beckmann have a product called "Dry-Clean Only".  The box didn't give a lot away, and I can't afford to buy something to have a nosey at, at the moment - but it might be worth a look (or a try)?
