I'm a big fan of Pinup Clothing and have become a fan of retro-styles in general. But I'm 52 y.o., so I think I'm even more careful when choosing styles than a younger Pugster. Anyone out there who is older that thinks about Pinup style as well? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

I'll start with a few thought of my own.

- I choose hems that are longer. I love love love the tipsy elephant design, but I'm hesitant to buy the Lily dress because I'm afraid it would be too short for me. I have the Annalise dress with the dress and have the pin to match. But the Annalise is a tea length dress. I wonder if add to the Lily hemline...

- Necklines. I think about these. I have the Natasha and Natalie dresses and they look great (even if I have to wear a padded bra.) But some other styles I've shied away from. Anyone else think about this? I just got the Lillian in melted leopard and it is *perfect*. :-)

- I love my Birdie dress. That I think is one of the best styles for me. I have it in the royal blue and feel like a queen when I wear it.

That's all for now. I hope I'm not the only one like me out there. :-)

Toni, you're not the only one! I'm older as well, and I love PUG styles. I love that the dresses are sexy without being 'clubwear' (I do not need a hemline that stops at the crotch, know what I mean?). Not sure I could pick a favorite, but I do love the Jessica dress. And the Erin. See! I can't pick! ;)

I know what you mean.  I'm 42 this year.  I steer clear of the shorter styles.  I have knees that should never see the light of day.  I love the prints but don't think I can pull them off.  I do have the Anna in red - which I love.  Venturing into polka dots was a whole new territory for me.   I had an old Rita style which was white with black dots but even though I liked the dress I was never comfortable in that particular colour way.  It has since found a loving home.  I also have the birdie, the erin and the chiffon micheline as well as the greta.  Haven't had a chance to wear by birdie yet.  I live in my sean and harrison tops - they are great for work.

Good to know about the Sean and Harrison tops. I've been thinking about them. I was thinking that I could get away with them and a PUG pencil skirt for work. I'll invest when I recover from my last PUG purchase ;-) (the Lillian dress).

The sean is more tight fitting than the harrison.  I teach 7 year olds and I wear them to work with skirts, jeans, shorts or trousers.  I've got them both in burgandy.  I plan to get them in other colours eventually.  Would love them in navy

I'm 48.  I stick to the more classic PUG -- Heidi, Natalie, Erin, Vamp tops and dresses, pencil skirts, Doris skirts and Gias (to name a few) .  I have no fear of how fitted as long as it's not short also.  I'll do dresses a bit above the knee as long as they're full but only a couple inches.  Also ordered the Erika.

The main thing I stay away from are the things with skulls on them.  But almost anything else goes :)

The Lily doesn't look that short to me.  Just above the knee on Masumi it looks like.

Im not as mature as you are but im neither the young 20something anymore and i find very much comfort in PUG. I used to be really worried about getting older. I didnt want to loose my style and at the same time i realized that it has to change in some way with time, i didnt want to be the embarrasing woman who doesnt realise her age by dressing far to young. And i could never make peace with the thought that my style and personality would just vanish and i would slip into more common wear. But after discovering PUG and seeing all beautifull mature woman totally rocking these clothes i feel as if i have some sort of image of what will be. Its hard to imagine yourself 10 or 20 years ahead but at least now i know i will still look my best and more importantly, look like me, just a more mature me :)

I am 56 and love the PUG style.  I do feel too mature for some styles but I feel good that I can find very attractive clothes where there is a longer skirt, etc.  The swim suits are actually more modest than many others.

I will be fifty next year and love my Pug outfits. I own 2 heidis (cherry and the velvety textured one) two Evelyns (black and feather) a black Doris skirt, 2 Doris tops, black and red, a cherry Natasha, a burgundy Harrison top. I get lovely comments whenever I wear any of them . My faves are the Heidis because you can dress them up with high wedges and a wrap, or down with converse and a cardi. My next purchase will be the black pin dot Heidi and the exclusive red flower one.

I'm 30 but in a youth obsessed world see myself as 'mature'. The media tells me I am lol! Seriously, though, I read your comments with interest and hope you don't think I'm hijacking here. I used to be concerned about what I'd wear when I was older. Then I came across a few women in their 50s and 60s who rock whatever they wants- be it bright pink streaks in their hair, 'younger' cuts, fishnets, 'girlie' styles etc. I used to think that would look 'mutton as lamb' but the thing is, these women are confident, and rock their own look regardless of what anyone thinks. And while I do hear jibes about people who dress outside societal expectations, often I think it's jealousy because if someone looks and feels great they are often envied!

Just wanted to say, I love seeing 40+ women rock PUG and you too have made me feel more comfortable about keeping my style forever :) All the pics of everyone 40+ see in PUG gear look great! I just wish PUG would use mature models. I've said this a few times before. It would be great to see PUG embrace mature models as the company uses diverse models in terms of dress size, shape and cultural background. I'd love to see some older models too!
