Hello dolls!

I am in need of some help!!!

I am wondering what type of shoes you ladies wear for you casual PUG look?

I normally wear my black flats or my saddle shoes but sometimes that seems rather boring after so long and I  want to know what are my options on casual shoes, I have a ton of heels but they are a to dressy for a casual day... Should I try to find more casual wedges?

I usually trade off between my Coach patent flats and my Kork-Ease Avas. They're leather platform sandals, first introduced in 1953. The Bette sandal is the same basic shoe with a steeper pitch. :D

Kork-Ease Classics

I switch between my black ballet slippers and my Remix Gloria wedges, but I usually wear black or pink ballet flats.

Here is another question for you dolls....when doing a casual look do you wear the white socks with your flats? I have always done it that way since my grandma told me that if it was casual and they didn't wear heels or wedges they wore white socks that were cuffed with their flats.

I'm a big advocate of melissa shoes, particularly the buget 'mel' line. They are so cute and comfortable and are ethically produced (no child/ underpaid labour and environmentally get the thumbs up). They are also infused with a lovely scent!  Here's a pic of some of their current styles: http://www.melshoes.com/shop.html?dir=asc&mode=list&order=m.... If you click on the shoes you can see other colours (I have a stunning bright blue pair that always get compliments) I have two pairs of mel flats and plan to get more. I picked them up on sale for around $25 US inc shipping.

Thanks CK -

if you don't mind, I'm going to add that link to my blog this weekend... Do you buy from the US and do they do the conversion online for you? I haven't taken a chance to look through it, but are the sizes US, or are the EU? The quick look I got from connecting on the link had me grinning in glee!!!

And Vickie:

I just bought these @ KMart on Clearance for $9.99:

Side view:

They are my new go-to's for work (I work retail customer service, which is a LONG freaking day, especially when you add in climbing up & down 3 flights of escalators multiple times, plus walking to & from work ~3miles/work day). I had to work out the blister - which is something I ALWAYS get anytime I have a new shoe; comes from having one foot bigger than the other.

These I also bought @ KMart, earlier in the summer season, for about $20 (they also have a brown pair that I'm going to pick up; they also have not gone on clearance yet):

These are flat, as opposed to the slight wedge with the white ones.

If you want some cheap semi-round toe ballet flats, hit up WalMart. These are the ones I found there @ my local store:

And I can't forget Sears; we just got in a pair of leopard print walking shoes, with a slight wedge done by Laura Scott (who is one of the more "traditional" designers we carry). They run for about $25 in store, here's the link:http://www.sears.com/laura-scott-women-s-evans-casual-shoe-leopard/...I haven't had the chance to try these on yet, but they look comfy, and if her past shoes are any clue, these will be comfy as well. I'm always on the lookout for comfy but cute shoes because I really don't like wearing my maryjanes all the time. And sometimes, an outfit just screams out for something different!!!
Hope all this helps!
=)

I tend to wear a lot of ballet flats (I actually really really love the gap's leather round toe ballet flats)

I also really love the Shelleys London brand, as well as Miz Mooz, Seychelle's and Miss L Fire.

They are some nice flats! I am Australian and have bought my mel shoes from one Australian store and ASOS. I hunted around online for the best prices. In terms of sizing, they are made in Brazil but they have a big international market so most stores list their US, UK and European sizing too. Just be careful if you buy from ebay because there's a big counterfit industry for Melissa shoes. There's plenty of blogs/ articles out there though that tell you what to look for in terms of authenticity.

It would be great if you linked that to your blog as I reckon the love of shoes should always be shared!

Hi there, CK!  I'm wondering— Are Melissa shoes generally comfortable/friendly to feet & backs?  I was *just* recommended them by another source, literally less than a day ago!  (And for a couple years now, I've had such good luck, going w/ small(ish) clothing & shoe lines from the UK & EU.)  I just had a hard time getting a good sense of comfort level from the website; I'll do more research, but you seem in-the-know!  The prices kick ass, there are a few styles I adore, your info about their ethical stances is a major plus— but do you find them comfortable for extended periods of time, that sort of thing?

Thanks so much!— Bird

Hi RobinBird! Dunno if I'm in the know too much cos I only have two pairs but both pairs I have a very comfortable. They are both flats. I have worn each pair to work and I am on my feet for much of the day and have found them to be comfortable enough to wear all day. I didn't get blisters from either pairs but I do have narrow feet.

And I agree, ethical thumbs up is very important in fashion wear as it's hard to come by unfortunately!

Hi, Vickie!  To let you know in advance: I'm super-picky about shoes & comfort, as I adore heels & platforms, but have pretty serious chronic pain, some of which is based in a lower-back/spine condition.  So in short, I've done lots of careful research!

I super-duper-extremely highly recommend BC shoes!  They have a delightful array of basic (but fabulous!) vintage styles.  Flats, 2-3 inch heels, (as high as I go unless we're talking platforms/"flatforms") sandals & wedges.  I found them via Modcloth, where you can see great reviews w/ pictures, but I tend to double-check for discounts on sites like 6pmShoes— & WOW!, did I get lucky.  At the time, I splurged; partly b/c I have such a hard time finding such divine quality vintage styles that also offer adequate comfort; & partly b/c 6pm enabled me to get 6 pairs for under $200 total! 3 colors of "That'll Be The Day", 2 of "Fidget", & a duo-toned satin wonder that I'm not sure they make anymore.  They have fewer size & style options now, but some are still there!  Plus, looks like BC is having a sale of their own on some styles!

They're simple & classy & most styles can easily be worn w/ the right jeans, modern outfit, or office suit, just as easily as they can be paired w/ all sorts of vintage finds & PUG dresses!  (My red That'll Be The Days look like they're *made* for Deadly Dames' red "Haunted Housewife"; the teal pair looks brilliant w/ the jade Sandra dress!) *Fun bonus!: BC designs often have lovely floral designs inside, like a secret fashion bonus just for you & those lucky enough to see you take them off!  Yay!  I hope this helped; good luck to you (& your feet!) in your search!
