Hi Ladies!

I have several Heidi dresses and I've noticed on one of them that I've got deodorant on it, any suggestions to get it out? Or should I have it dry cleaned?

Thanks!

I was once told to use the same type of fabric, rub it against the deodorant and it will be removed. I've tried this, and it usually works for me. If all else fails, I will spot clean with a damp washcloth. If that still doesn't work, then I head to the cleaners and ask them if they can get it out. I have a really great cleaners that has been around forever and is upfront about their abilities. I recommend all girls find that one cleaner (hopefully with a tailor!!) they can trust - it's invaluable.

Hope that helps!

And that's not just for the Heidi dress... it works on everything (thus far!)!

Thanks! I'll have to try that, seems safe which is good, can't do any more harm to it lol.

There are special soaps for getting stains out. They work for light deodorant build up.
When the build up gets pretty bad or thick you can use meat tenderizer.
This also works if you have a white shirt that your body has stained.
The tenderizer breaks down proteins so it makes meat soft and sweat/deodorant stains wash away.
I had this problem a lot as a young teen. I guess I put on too much but now a days I use a clear "natural" deodorant from The Body Shop. Smells like roses too ;)

Hi Holly!! Try using a clean, dry make up sponge on the area that has the deodorant on it... Take the dry sponge and lightly rub the stain.... I've seen special sponges made especially for this at specialty boutiques but a make up sponge works the same without having to spend any money... This is what i use when i put one of my dresses or tops on and have gotten my deodorant on it... Let me know how you make out Holly , if you've tried this and it worked! :D

Hi Michelle! Thank you, that was an amazing way of doing it. It got just about all of it out! There's still some left that was thicker but I'm going to try it again. But really impressed with the results! Do you have any advice on hand washing the heidis? I really appreciate it!

My tip is similar to Michelle and Janelle's suggestions. I keep used dryer sheets and tie them in a knot to keep for such situations. Just rub the dryer sheets on the spot n it will disappear before your eyes! Good luck!

Take a pair of old nylon stockings or tights and rub the marks. It takes them right off.

I second this.  I keep an old knee high in my suitcase and lingerie drawer for just this purpose.

Thanks everyone! So far I've tried the dry makeup sponge and it works great! But I'm also going to try the socks, nylons and dryer sheets just to see how those work too :) I appreciate all the help!
