So I am trying to get the Pin Up Eye Make Up Down!

Both my eyes are a little droopy, so you never really see any of the eye make up I put on especially anything I put in the crease. My right eye is a little droopier then the other, that when I put eye liner on there is no real separation btw my eyeliner and my upper lid and half the time it rubs off or smears on my upper lid.  What can I do to get this look?

Any help you can be would be great!  I was raised by my father so never really learned about make up so never wore it and never tried to learn other then then basics... and now at 36 finally trying to wear it more and love the Pin Up Look and style.  All the Youtube videos I have seen are women that don't have the droppy eye issues!

I can only just kinda see what you mean by your photo. I think what you need to do is try different makeup for the smearing issues. Also, always start with a shadow base to remove excess oil and help prevent smudges etc. You may simply want to switch from eyeliner to a wet brush and black powder for your eyes. That's how I do it now, because I have sort of the same problem with one of my eyelids, and my skin tends to get oily. A good angled brush, and nice matte black powder will do just fine.

That horrible that you have this issue. Well I deff feel like this is a problem the great Micehline Pitt could help you with this shes a professional. Wish you luck and sorry I wasn't any help.

Thank you ladies, any help and advice is better then nothing.  I guess a picture sans makeup and me smiling would help!  I know it is hard to see my eyes when I smile, with the droops.  I have been trying to research more but it is hard to put the two issues I have together and get something that looks right.

My right eye is a little puffer then normal in this picture as I was trying a few things I found and removing the make up irritated my eye.

Yes I was one of those girls that plucked too much (smack my hands if you much) but I am trying to grow them in now.  I fill in my eye brows in, that I have gotten down for the most part.

I'm much older, have always had hooded eyelids like you're describing and they get droopier with every passing year.  I found these two videos that helped me with either winged eyeliner or smokey eyes.

LADIES Thank you for the Help!  This is what I was able to accomplish for a Photo shoot I had on Friday.  Not that you can see ANY of the makeup for my eyes.  but the hair and dress really did it the most.

YOU LOOK FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!!!

and i think we have the same eye issues, but i need to get off the couch and check the mirror, lol...

Hi, I also have hooded eyes and I have worked as a makeup artist for film & tv. Bobbi Brown long wear gel eyeliner is great for hooded eyes. It does not rub off on your lid or smear. I like to apply gel eyeliner with a very small wedge shaped brush.  Naimie's 827681 Makeup Brush Angle Grey 2T is my favorite brush for this http://www.naimies.com/make-up/tools/brushes/naimie-s-827681-makeup...

The traditional extended "cat eye" Pin Up eyeliner look is not as effective for hooded eyes. Instead, lift up the eyeliner at the outer 1/4 of your eyelash in a wedge shape but do not extend out past the corner of your eye.

Asian eyes and hooded eyes benefit from the same style of eye shadow and liner. There are a lot of great videos on YouTube about eye makeup for Asian eyes. Basically, for hooded eyes - apply shadow in a rainbow shaped arch instead of the cat eye shape that is usually illustrated in eye shadow tutorials.

Also, after you apply your eyeshadow take your triangle cut foundation sponge and reapply foundation with the long straight edge of the sponge in a diagonal from the corner of your eye towards the outer edge of your brow. This will uplift your eye.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Alyssa - That helped me!!! I thought I was going nuts, now I know...

I'm glad it helped. I know what you mean, when every eyeshadow tutorial you see is NOT for hooded eyes it makes you feel like you are applying it wrong. Really, it is simply the wrong look for your shape of eye. A PUG look that does well for hooded eyes is more like the early 1960's-  http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02262/tiffanys_2262954a...

A top eyeliner, wedge shaped, thicker on the outside edge, that does not extend past the eyelid. Mascara on the upper lashes only. False eyelashes if you like them. No liner on the bottom. A light color on the lid, like vanilla or pearly white. A medium shade above, like apricot or fawn or a fleshy pink if you are cool toned,  following the curve of your brow. Vanilla in the inside corner of your eye and under your brow. A little vanilla  under the bottom lash on the outer 1/4 extending into the recess at the corner to brighten up and uplift can be good too.

It sounds like you had hooded eyelids (?)

It just means you need to simplify your makeup - you may need to place the darker colour futher up to be seen.
Here's some in struction on getting some definition from you eyes: http://luvmakeupandbeauty.blogspot.com.au/2009/04/hooded-eyes-hook.... just add winged eyeliner-as thin as possible
