I've been noticing that a lot of people have been saying that they can not or have a hard time mastering the winged eyeliner. So i wanted anyone who feels this way to vent about the problem. What goes wrong? What are you having issues with? Or just give the whole play by play. I am curious to understand this frustration and hope to be able to help. :)

It lasts a really long time too. I have been using mine for about 9 months and it's still strong. I will note that I do not wear a lot of make up during the week though because I am in construction. lol

Oooh Thank you :)

Thanks 4 putting the pics up, its  gr8 up n close shots, i love wings, but my eyes seem 2 leak, n by the time i leave the house ive wiped them off... :(

I was the same Cherise. Experiment with different eyeliners until you find one that stays on you. There is always waterproof eyeliner. I don't use it because I don't like to rub too hard on my eyes to get it off, but it's an option. I have lots of different ones, some work, some don't. We should do a girly makeup day and you can try mine without having to spend heaps on ones that don't work for you.

Hey Soozi Qu, thats sounds gr8, would love 2 catch up & do make overs, love 2 get your help in any way i can, thanx doll :)

I, for some reason, always used to put my eye makeup on last, BUT as I don't wear a lot of foundation, I now put it on first, so that if I do make a mistake, I can start again - no drama :) Also, I have found that liquid pens give a good line.

I like Maybelline Line Stiletto, black. It is super easy to control and goes on nice and dark. If you make a mistake you wait till it dries and gently rub it off. You can use a cotton swab, or the pointy cotton swab for makeup removal. I gently pull the skin on my eye to get better coverage. When the eye is done, I do the wing, sweeping it away from my eye, then back in. Either I do a skinny line or wide, depends on my mood/look. I will use two mirrors to see if both sides are the same and if I got the scale right.

I love the Line Stiletto! It goes on really dark and opaque. I made the mistake of trying a different liquid liner when I needed a new tube, and it was terrible, really thin and I had to go over it a few times.

i seem to have more luck with the liquid liner pens than the tubs with a brush. i don't know what i'm doing different, but it seems to be easier for me to draw it on than brush it on. i got a pen off of bhcosmetics.com and it works awesome. almay and cover girl make one too, but the liquid isn't as smooth, the bh pen draws on nicely and stays well, and it's also on the cheaper end, which is nice.

has anyone else seen this?

She does her eyeliner with scotch tape. I've always joked about how easy it would be if I had a stencil I could just stick on and color in (for those mornings when you just don't feel like doing makeup). I've never personally tried it (I mark with dots where the end of the wing goes and then draw it in from there). Has anyone ever done this?

Yes, I've done the scotch tape thing and it gives a perfect shape to both the eyeshadow and the eyeliner. No fallout from eyeshadow either that you have to wipe off later.

Dots are a great idea, thank you! Getting them even is the biggest challenge I have, both the eye liner and the wings. One side ends up thicker/ more winged, so then I add more liner to the other eye to make them match, and then I put on too much, so I have to add to the other one... and so on and so on. Then I look a bit too Winehousian for my liking!
