I like so many it's hard to choose.

I would have to say the all time scariest movie for me was The Shining! Kubrick really knew how to get in your head!

I really love Hershel Gordon Lewis... blood feast, color me blood red, 2000 maniacs, etc. They are just so sick and cheesy. I love horrible acting and low budget films.. for example poor Tony here after his girlfriend gets it.... http://youtu.be/qQNvFjasJ0o  Superb!

I love grind house films. All the low budget stuff up into the 70's. My movie collection is quite bizarre. Things like Death Bed..The Bed that Eats, Troll 2 etc. To give you an idea where my head is... I own every movie by HG Lewis, David Lynch, John Waters, Russ Meyer etc.. I know those last two are not technically horror however I have made people scream showing them...even lost a friend over a showing of 'Desperate Living'.

So back to serious stuff some other favorites...

Halloween (the original)

Carrie

Suspiria

Alice Sweet Alice

Pieces

Wicker Man (original although the remake is Hilarious!

These are just off the top of my head. I have so many more I'm sure I'll think of later.

Oh and of course who doesn't love the classics Dracula, Frankenstein etc...

And Hammer Films! I LOVE Hammer Films!!! I am in love with Christopher Lee!

So what are some of your favorites?

asking me what my favorite horror movie is, is like asking me which eye I would rather loose... it's an impossible decision!

I love horror movies and all their sub genres. I definitely tend to lean towards classic universal monster movies I can't get enough of them (plus everything is better in black and white) The Bride of Frankenstein is my all time favorite of those. Campy Slasher films are great too, the Friday the 13th films are my favorite of those I love how awful they get over the years Jason X? come on I fucking love that shit, LOL I HATE the original Halloween I know I know I always get crap for this and then even more crap when I tell people Halloween 3 is one of my favorite movies!

Most horror I usually view more as comedy than "scary", not much scares me (well not normal things anyways, puppets on black background are more the kinds of things that scare me LOL) I think it's because I started watching them at such a young age. I love Poltergeist I'm pretty sure that was the 1st horror I ever saw.

hhmmm I don't know if I can really list any because I'm afraid I won't stop, LOL especially monster movies from the 50's and 60's my god I love them! the creature that challenged the world, the spider, the giant gila monster, the fly (the orginal) tarantula... <3<3

then there's Nightmare on elm street, texas chainsaw, night of the demons, house of 1000 corpses, sleepaway camp...

vampire movies are always fun lost boys, near dark, rockabilly vampire, fright night, children of the night...

there's just so many!! I'm going to stop for now, LOL

Ok I won't give you the business about hating the original Halloween, (Even though I do think you may be insane now) I will however agree with you about Halloween 3 season of the witch. I really like that one a lot. If it hadn't been billed a Halloween sequal it would not get the bad rap it gets now. By itself its a very good 80s horror flick.

I also adore the 3 halloween and this comes from a die hard Michael myers fan. I get shit for like both all the time.

30 days of night was a great movie.

I to love Halloween (the first horror movie I saw!!), Carrie and The Shining (have you also read the books?  The Shining is one of my favourites!!).  I also love Stir of Echos, Psycho and Creep... There are so many I can't even think of!! lol but as a general rule I much prefer older more classic horrors than the new stuff!!... But I do love love love Zombie movies!!  Faves being Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later!!  :D

oh, I love Stir of Echoes! I think it's such an underrated movie.

omg the part with the finger nail!!! and am I the only person in the world that refuses to call 28 days later a zombie movie???

Totally not a zombie movie, I agree. But infected "bath salt" type people taking over the city... Still an awesome horror flic! And yes... The finger nail. Holly crap Batman.

I completely agree none of those people are dead they're just infected and killing them is a lot easier than killing a zombie!

"They're coming to get you Barbara!" Zombies all the way. Thank you George A Romero, but my fave has to be Shawn of the Dead.

oh man...I don't know if I can pick one. I have a huge soft spot for werewolves, so the Howling movies and An American Werewolf in London are definitely up there. Dog Soldiers is another awesome movie.

Of course, zombie movies are also always great. Love the remake of Dawn of the Dead and I'm a huge fan of the Resident Evil series - Alice is my dream girl.

Dog Soldiers! <3 the Howling also awesome, but seriously the Howling 2? LOL gotta love that cheese ^_^
