I don't know how to start this discussion honestly. I'm always curious when I look through all your photos and read your bios. No one really talks about what they do for a living. I guess I wonder this because I work such an obscure job that I always imagine all the PUG enthusiasts are well known celebrities, or powerful business women because you are all so beautiful.

I work in the offshore oilfield, 6 months a year I'm offshore on a barge or a boat and usually there aren't many girls. I wear steel toe boots, a hardhat, and pants. I never wear makeup and my hair is always in a ponytail. The other 6 months out of my year, I'm usually in a dress with full makeup and my hair done.

So I guess what I'm asking is what do you guys do for a living?

Being a homemaker is great :D and a very nice career of sorts, you take care of people and things <3

I am currently a graduate student and homemaker. I have bachelor of arts degrees in both psychology and social work. I am currently in a masters program for counseling and plan on getting my LPC and a certification in sex therapy. I am scheduled to graduate August 2015 and then can work on certifications. I also write regularly and plan on looking for a publisher when I finish what I am currently working on.

I am a cardiac nurse. I work hard..I play hard.  I love my career, but I struggle to love my job some days. Although, I think that's viral. Everyone gets it. I'm glad you posted. It's nice to put a life with the pics.

I'm a casual working gap year student haha. It'll be a while before I can really say I'm doing anything for a living apart from working where I can and studying to become a clinical psychologist. I'm Australian and having a gap year or two is a pretty big thing over here, I'm not sure how big it is around the rest of the world. However I plan to take PUG with me no matter where I end up!!!

WOW. thats sound amazing Christine.

I'm work as part time/trainee as a sound technician and as a security guard at a concert venue (really funny cause i am 5.3") Starting Uni this fall studying event and music management. I love tattoos, but can hardly afford it cause Norway is a money pit, music, B&W movies.

Mostly I am a mom, but I juggle many part-time hats!  I work for a wonderful pin-up photographer, Foxy Pinups (www.facebook.com/foxypinups) doing her communications, bookings, and social media managing.  I also do MUAH on a free-lance basis for other pinup photographers that may travel to my town, (Kansas City).  I sell hand made accessories and vintage clothing on ebay, etsy, and through facebook groups like Ooh Lala.   I would love to eventually open my own boutique someday!

Hi  Melissa!

I am in Akron and I totally understand about the lack of pinup anything in Ohio!  I have found that by getting involved in more sites like pinupgirlstyle.com about retro / vintage living I have found more people in our state that are into the lifestyle (photographers, vintage stores, vintage car collectors, and so on).

Hope to hear more from you!

Vivian V.

I'm a court reporter, but my work has declined so much I'm essentially unemployed and have been for a long time now. I'm trying to figure out a new career path to pursue, but I'm really not sure where to go from here.

I work as a stylist in a hair salon. People are very laid back, style-wise, where I live, but my boss knows I'm into vintage so usually when a girl comes in with a similar style they send em my way. I switch my look up a lot at work, but lately I've been setting my hair in pin-curls more often, and doing a bit more of the pinup thing.

Love this group!

I have my own business where I sell vintage sewing patterns and vintage clothing.  I am also an independent makeup artist.  And if that isn't enough, I am going back to college to complete my degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology.

I am a very busy stay at home Mom of 4 boys and a husband. I am currently waiting to enroll for the fall session to get my a.s. in paralegal studies.

Hi :)

I'm in the greater Detroit area and I work as a Kitchen/bath designer.  I am looking for other PUG to meet/learn from and I thought this site would be helpful.  I haven't met any one but there is a wealth of knowledge/info on PUGS!

Your job sounds fascinating! Kind-of a modern day Rosie the riveter.

Best wishes for 2015!!!

Jerusha
