I noticed lots of active new ladies on here so I wanted to say hi! Feel free to introduce yourself as I don't bite (except at Halloween).

Hi right back. I'm Rebecca & I just discovered PUG through a friend. I love the hair accessories I've bought so far & the Marilyn style tops which seem to fit my body the best. I'm enjoying discovering this whole new look for myself, & love how sexy it makes me feel. I just took a bunch of pictures with the new top & hair accessories I just need to post them.

Marilyn tops are the best!! I followed you on Instagram :)

Awesome! I love the Marilyn tops. I followed you on Instagram as well.

Hi I'm Ashley Im brand new here :) I've always loved retro/pinup style I even had a 1950s wedding but now I'm ready to have the "look" I want. I have tattoos and cat eye glasses why not just go for it right?  Was it hard for yall to transition into your "look"?  How did you build your wardrobe any ideas on wardrobe essentials?

Hi Ashley,

For me I started with the hair accessories. I then started wearing the Marilyn style tops. These work best for my body type. I don't wear this look to work, but I do on the weekend and any vacation/personal time. Good Luck on your transition to your "new look".

Thats a good idea!! I got a flower a while back on ebay that I LOVE.  I think I need some hair scarves and maybe some headbands. Thanks for the info

I posted a bunch of pictures on Instagram. Http://Instagram.com/princessjasmines_mama
I have some more tops & couple more hair accessories coming this week then after payday next week I'm going to buy a couple dresses.

I started shopping in thrift stores, then vintage/antique places and then finally started buying repro: PUG Stop Staring, etc. I was not really searching to become a retro gal. The look just became me or I became a retro glamour girl without planning it all. Hmmm, I am not really explaining myself well. To put it another way, there was no plan. But once it all started to happen I just started buying things as I could. If things were inexpensive I just bought them. And the other stuff I started to buy when they were on sale. And bit by bit, it all came together.

Thats awesome!! I just bought some stuff on the swap group to get me started :)

I started out with a couple of pencil skirts and tops as wardrobe essentials and then just added to that as time went by. Like the lovely miss Aoife I also added a lot of sale pieces and secondhand. I guess the hardest part is actually putting everything on and walking outside where everyone is staring at you, but you get used to it pretty fast. I think the pieces that have gotten the most wear in my closet are all of my pencil skirts, any type of separate or top (Vamp, Marilyn, Doris, etc.), Erin dress, and Jessica dress, but I like wiggles :)

Good luck building your wardrobe!

Thank you so much! Yes I definitely need to invest in tops. I just got my first PUG item http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/jenny-skirt-italy-print.html  And I bought a couple things from a girl on this site. I'm definitely going to check out  vintage shops too. Thanks for the advice :)

In my experience one can never have enough tops! Or skirts. My first PUG was a Jessica Dress! I followed you on Instagram :)
