Every day I have to wear a uniform to work. I am a female in a mans profession. I work in the automotive industry and am actually the boss (Yay!). Anywho! Since I have to wear the same uniform daily for 10 hours a day 5 days a week, how can I still keep it pin up? I have waist length hair and must keep it up. I normally just throw it into a mess on the top of my head. I always wear vintage styled makeup but is there quick alternatives to vintage styled hair? victory rolls really don't go well with steel toe boots work pants and a button up uniform shirt! and hair must be kept above the shoulders at all times so no retro barbie ponies for me. Also since I am the boss and only female at my location, is this maybe attracting to much attention to ones self? I get a lot of unwanted attention to begin with being a female in a male dominated industry. I normally just shrug it off! I was looking to see what input other PUGsters had. I have added the only photo I can find of my daily messy hair and its a terrible cell phone photo!

Hugs and kisses

Honestly, because of the above shoulder rule, the only option I can think of is a cute little bang style! But don't be afraid to do the victory rolls! I find them to be very cute, I mean I see girls at different occupations having to go with that same rule and I don't think it looks too bad even if you have to wear a button-up shirt. You want to be you, and it does suck that you have to deal with the unwanted attention. But you know what? As a woman we're always going get that unwanted attention, so why not just go with the look with you want. I think you're very pretty and you pull off the bangs very well. It's very impressive how much of an effective change bangs have to your look! That's more of the safe route if you don't really want to do victory.Your make-up will always speak for itself as far as what look you want to pull off like you've stated. But the hair will definitely be more of an emphasis as well! If you have long bangs what I do is tuck the end into the strand and keep rolling it down. Then I pin the hair in place in the front of my hair-line. It looks just as vintage as the natural short bang. One I find the link I'll post it on here. Don't be afraid to also change up the bang with a wave, sometimes pin-up hair is not necessarily the Bettie Page bangs. I hope I was of some help! Have a wonderful day! :)

She calls them the bumper bangs! You can also use a sponge I believe to make the perfect shape!

Oh and two victory rolls :)

Ok this is what I did today and I am actually very happy with it! It's a pony folded in half with a vintage scarf tied in a bow.

That's really cute! See you've got the look down! And just because you're a woman in a man's profession that doesn't mean you can't be feminine still. I hate that sometimes we have to look the part in order to be treated equally with the opposite sex, it shouldn't have to be that way. But I'm happy you're taking the initiative and going for a more girly approach!

I try to look the part of bitch boss to be taken seriously as the boss but my guys have gotten to know me and know wha I expect from them everyday so I'm slowly going to bring the girly ness in HAHAHAHA they even dig my pink pen I write with exclusively

That's good. It's a work in progress :)

I was thinking of these looks:

Those are really cute!

I will have to try these as well when it gets warmer. lately we have been in the below freezing temperatures and have been sacrificing cute hair for practical knit hat wearing ear covered Nanook of the north. I work a lot outside when it is this cold as peoples vehicles do not function as well.

This is what I came u with recently as my fringe is just long enough for a small quiff. I'm sorry for poor picture quality I am actually at the bowling alley, I'm on a league.
