Does anyone know if it shrinks in the washer? Or if a washer will completely ruin the clothing?

I'm not sure if I'm better off taking it to a dry cleaner?

I have put mine in the washer on gentle cycle and I just hang dry. I have not had any problems. The dresses just wrinkle up so be prepared to iron when dry.

There was a discussion on this not so long ago, and in my research I found that dry cleaning is pretty much the standard way of cleaning/washing most things in America, whereas in the rest of the world we tend to only dry clean the *really* good stuff (bridal dresses, for instance).  I've washed some "dry-clean only" PUG stuff in the handwash cycle on my machine with no issue, and then hung it to dry

I mostly handwash and hang dry, and I wear slips underneath so that I can wash them less,

most PUG stuff you can wash in the regular dryer on whatever cycle you want but the colors and prints will fade so I like to take care of it so it looks like new for longer. Generally speaking most PUG is pretty durable BUT if you want it to last for ten years I would go gentle cycle on the wash or handwash and then never ever put it in the dryer :)

I washed everything pretty much UNTIL I washed the pin dot Heidi and the black dye ran and ruined the white trim. I guess I deserved that but do be careful with the high contrast prints. Now I dryclean my three Heidis at AUD $15 a pop. Eeek. My Erins, Jessicas etc I still wash.

Thank you ladies. I washed my Heidi on cold on the gentle cycle and let it hang dry. Luckily I didn't have any issues. :)

I've been handwashing my Vamp tops, but they don't seem to come out as well as when I had one dry cleaned. Now I take my Lauren tops and my Vamp tops to the dry cleaner and they come out way better. I love to iron, but I just can't get the tops as crisp as the dry cleaner can. Also, they warned me about colors running on the harlequin print... can't have that!
