Hi everyone! It's me Tahitia again and I wanted to talk to you all about a topic that I've been researching for a little bit now, breast augmentation, specifically breast implants.

As you can imagine this is an incredibly sensitive and an especially intimate topic, but I was really impressed with the feedback and advice that Harlow Napalm received with her Cosmetic Surgery thread, so I thought that I'd open this topic up for discussion.

Long story short, I recently lost a great deal of weight that I had put on and carried for a couple of years. Though I feel a lot healthier, stronger and more active since loosing the weight, my breasts do not have the same shape, size or even firmness that they used to have, not during my period of weight gain or even before my weight gain.

I've been lucky enough to be able to talk with not just one, but two women who've undergone the procedure for very different reasons, but both of which couldn't be any happier with the results. One of these women is a user here on Pinup Style, and even though I don't want to give out her name in case she wants to keep that part of her life private she's been a major help in giving me insight on what I can expect.

What I'd like to know is insight from any women here on their experience with the procedure if they've had it themselves. Things like if there was a great deal of soreness afterwards in the chest and if it lingered for some time, can you feel the implants inside of you all the time and if so if that's a troubling or bothersome sensation, do you still have feeling in the breasts like you did before? Can you nurse through breasts with implants and does the growth in breast size with pregnancy make the implants look strange and misshapen at all? Most importantly is there anything, good or bad that you wish someone had told you about before the procedure that you did not know about.

So thank you for taking the time to read my questions in the post, and I can't wait to see what you guys have to say. Hugs!

Tahitia :)

Shay this is really good to know! The effects of weight gain were a concern of mine, but based on what you said I think that shouldn't be an issue. I also like your idea of researching images of breasts that you do like/don't like, I should get started on that (there's a lot of homework to do ;) ).

I'm glad that you were able to get the results you were looking for, by the way you look absolutely gorgeous in the pictures you've posted :)

Awwww, thank you Bonnie! Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it's actually really good to know the tip regarded tattoos as I do plan on getting one more tattoo, lol. (I have one one my right arm and one one my right lower back). :)

I just felt really comfortable asking my questions about breast augmentation her at Pinup Girl Style because of how great all you girls are. I also feel grateful that our generation is one that is comfortable talking about women's health/issues openly (as you mentioned in you comment). I think it's something that NEEDS to happen so I'm happy to have my chance to contribute and participate. :)

I would really want enlargements when I loose weight. I'm planning on loosing about 80-90 pounds and they will not be good after that... But I'm really afraid of the scarring since I have a syndrome (Ehlers danlos syndrome). So for me it's such a dilemma...

My Svensk that really is a very important concern. I'm sure that when you go to see a surgeon about a consultation that they'll be able to answer questions about Ehlers–Danlos since I'm sure it's an issue that surgeons have had to deal with before.

Good luck with your weight loss :)

Yes, I'm trying to find if there is some specialist in plastic surgery/breast augmention somewhere in the world who specializes in EDS or just in operations on patients who gets big scars, do you know anywhere on the internet where I can look?

My last neighbour had silicone but they where really hard (yes I got to feel xD and se her (minimal) scar) so I'm afraid of that too, but she had an a-cup to start with, I have more fat so it should be better? But she where very happy with hers.

I hope you'll get a pair you'll like:D

Thanks for the thread Tahitia!

I have been looking into getting a BA for quite a long time, and have had 2 (breastfed) children now, so the time has officially come!  I did my research, had a great consult, and have booked myself for surgery May 9th!  Wish me luck - I am super excited and nervous at the same time.

Anyone have tips for dealing with young children in the weeks after a BA??

Thanks :)

(Oh, and if anyone is looking for another good cosmetic surgery resource site - RealSelf.com is awesome - just make sure you sign-in so that you can see photos!)

Thank you for posting this,I myself have been thinking about getting surgery done for a few years now due to me having 2 kids & loosing firmness after nursing,I am embarrassed to wear swimsuit tops due to that reason.I want to feel more confidant & secure about myself.

I'm so happy that you've liked this thread Amanda and I hope it's been useful :) If you have any questions yourself for the thread I'm sure you'll get the answers that you need.

By the way you are a knock-out in that Old Hollywood Swimsuit!

Thank you!

Hey Sandy! I'm really happy to hear that your consult went so well and congratulations on booking your appointment! I seriously wish you all the luck in the world. Also I hope your recovery goes really well too so that you can let us all know how the whole experience has gone :)

I haven't been to that site you mentioned yet but I'm definitely going to check it out now. BTW your pictures are just beautiful! You are one lovely lady!

Wow, it has been a while since I checked out this thread!

Thank you for you comments on my photos Tahitia...I was about 5 or 6 months post-baby, so I still had boobs at that point! :)

I have my appointment in about two weeks time, and am watching what I put in my mouth.  Besides trying to eat healthy in order to aid in the healing process, there is a list of foods/meds to avoid in the weeks leading up to surgery (mostly "Aspirin-like" or Ibuprofen medications, red wine, green or chamomile tea, and some vitamin/supplements...) basically anything that thins your blood.

Otherwise, we are just stocking up the freezer with meals (my hubby is going to have his hands full with me on the mend and caring for our 1 and 3 year old boys,) and making sure we have a clean house to return to!

If I can find the time, perhaps I'll post on my own page about the experience...and if anyone has questions, I'm sure I can find the time in the days immediately afterwards to answer...some distraction will be good - I am hopeless at trying to sit still!

You're definitely welcome on those photos Sandy, I loved everything about them from the car to your poses to the dresses and that beautiful confidence, they were all fantastic!

I didn't realize you would have to avoid certain foods or medications at all before the surgery, but that does make a lot of sense now that you say it.

I'm sure everyone hear would love to hear about the experience yes but PLEASE take care of yourself first, there will be plenty of time to answer our questions later on.

I'm really excited for you Sandy, if you don't have the time to check back in before your surgery day good luck and have a great recovery :)
