I have been battling red karatosis bumps on my upper arms for years. I rarely wear sleeveless frocks since it is so noticeable. Does anyone have a good regime for combating horrid red chicken skin?

Thank you Sara! I am going to give this a try.

I know your pain, I hate my upper arms. So many nice outfits I can't do because of my damn arms unless I want to fry under a cardigan. -_-"

First off, they're there till they decide to go away, there's no cure for them. What I do is a coffee scrub every week (the old coffee grinds from the morning, 6 teaspoons sugar, and about 3 table spoons creme, mix it up and scrub away.), then after the coffee scrub and every shower I take I scrub with a loofa. Everyday I use the Aveeno daily mmoisturizer, 1 or 2 times a day, and at night I use a skin lightening lotion, right now I'm using Grisi Mother of Pearl Face and Body Lotion.

I've been doing this for about 2 months and I notice a difference, as do the few people that see my arms. According to them they're not even noticeable anymore, but in my mind they're still bright red.

Also, from what I've heard it's bad to keep them covered, so when you don't mind your arms being out, wear a short sleeve.

And look into the Baiden Mitten, I've heard so much good for that thing, but I'm beyond broke right now. It's $50.00, but apparently well worth it. If you happen to get it, let me know how it works on your arms.

Also! On all of the KP blogs I've heard so much ranting and raving about the Philosophy Soul Owner, it's a foot scrub, but I guess it works really well for KP.

What I have been doing lately when I want to wear something sleeveless is mixing a bit of my foundation in with my body moisturizer and rubbing it into my arms. It definitely tones down the redness

I agree with Tiffany Arnold about the coffee scrub.  I, too, have KP and regularly use a homemade coffee scrub to keep my skin smooth.  A good, regular regimen of exfoliation should help a lot.  I have heard a lot of people use AMLactin for this problem specifically.  You can buy it in regular stores for around $10.00 a bottle.  Perhaps you could give it a go!  Good luck!

Products with Lactic Acid are supposed to help with KP. I have it as well and I've noticed in the last 5 years its gotten much better for me. The bumps are less red/less pronounced although it gets worse in the winter.

I generally just use oil of olay with the creme ribbons on scrubby mitts in the shower then immediately lotion up with Vaseline Intensive Care with pure oat extract lotion afterwards.

I use a lotion called AmLactin by upsher-smith 17oz, i buy it at Costco for pretty cheap, the results are amazing. you have to put it on twice a day and its a bit oily but so worth it. ive been using it for years and you can barely tell that i have them, the redness is what goes away first then the bumps slowly get less. its not a cure as i still have them but they are 82% better. i love this stuff. highly recommend it.

Lac-hydrin lotion is the one my doctor recommended to me.  I also use a Salux scrub towel on my upper arms in the shower, and at night I clean the backs of my arms with these astringent pads - they have glycolic acid in them.

I bought the KP Duty set (one at a time cuz they are pricey) but I have been using it for two weeks and already notice a HUGE diffrence. Finally!! Something to combat this!

So the first picture is natural brows. The second is with the left brow done. What I'm asking you ladies is some critic on it as I've never actually done my brows before I don't want to look silly. Continue
