So I happen to be one of those crazies who loooves her animals. I figured I can't possibly be alone (and here come the crickets).

I have a full 20 gallon fish tank with a betta, 2 platys, 3 corydoras, and a loach happily coexisting. It's a full planted tank and its lovely to watch. I am crazy about fish. If I could, my whole house would be one big aquarium, but my electricity bill and lifestyle doesn't quite allow the time to do that (booooo. :c)

In addition to that, I also have a frilled dragon. He's a handsome little devil, but a total sass-pot (kinda like is owner...)

So, ladies of PUG, what little loves do you own?

Dallas is SO cute! :)

It brings a smile to my face every time someone posts another pet pic in this thread. :)

Rats are awesome pets, very smart. I haven't been able to have any kind of rats, mice, rabbits or the like for years due to having so many cats and dogs. I really miss them though.

I so agree - I look forward to seeing everybody's new additions to the thread! kitty pics on fb have nothing on our real and personal loves!

I have a sweet and naughty French Bulldog named Lucien:) He is my second rescue dog, my other is a female Italian Greyhound named Mayu. When I'm not working or spending time with my family I volunteer at a kigh kill shelter. I can rock out the love in pumps, a bandanna in my hair and red lipstick;)

My hairless cat aka Sphynx cat. Her name Bonnie Blu No'hara. Very cute! I was a dog gal, but then Bonnie came. She is smart, comes when I call her name, and loves to be around people, even sits at the table on the chair when we eat! It's like she is part of our conversation and wishes to join in! Absolutely adorable!

she is beautiful!!

I have always wanted a sphynx :)

Thanks Sandy, my parents are a breeder. You can find them on FB at "pensacola Sphynx" they are a great breed. Bonnie is the best :).

I agree, she's a beauty. Looks like she's a real character too. :)

I come begging for help. I've actually never done this before, but it is for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I've known D'Arcy, the man who founded D'Arcy's ARC a looong time, since the days when he was an Animal Health Technician at the vet across the street from my work (and less than a block from my home), back in the days when having a shelter was a only dream for him. He is a wonderful human being, outspoken, but with  a heart of gold. Where I live (Winnipeg, Canada) we are at an all time high feral cat population, with an estimated 50,000-100,000 feral cats. AVIVA Insurance has a $1,000,000 community fund that will be awarded and divided up between the winners at the end of all rounds of voting. All that is required is to register and then vote every day so that the shelter has a chance of being awarded some money to put towards the low-cost spay/neuter program and repairing the dog kennels. The other idea I am currently voting for is a cougar sanctuary in British Columbia. On each idea page is a description of the idea and why they are seeking funds. Your support would be so very much appreciated.

I volunteer not with D'Arcy (though I am quite familiar with them as they adopted me not 1 but 2 sick kittens who passed away within weeks of my adopting them) but with C.A.R.E.- Cat Advocacy Rescue Education we deal specifically with the Feral Cat population in the core area (north end) and...it's awful, it continually saddens me how many homeless, sick, starving cats there are. C.A.R.E. has done some work with D'Arcy's. I hope they get the grant, that would go a great distance in the vet bills to spay/neuter/trap/return and creating shelters in the winter.

I live in the North End. LOL

People like you who give of themselves and their time are gems! Thank you! :D

Truly, the situation is heartbreaking. We (my family and work) use Machray for our various rescued critters.  Sadly, one of the things that often happens is that rescued kittens and puppies already have compromised immune systems and it takes very little for them to become deathly ill. My pyr came from a breeder, was up on her shots and healthy, and withing 10 days deathly ill with parvo (she survived). She had never left the yard, never been in the front yard, and my backyard is locked, so no one came in there either. A few weeks later I learned 5 blocks away 2 pointer puppies died from it. It was apparently brought in by either the mailman or flyer delivery people, carried on their feet. Three of the feline babies we rescued from the street over the years were initially fine, but very quickly became ill with Feline calicivirus. Fortunately they all survived but in all 3 cases it was touch and go and we thought we were going to lose them. I've spayed and released several dozen ferals out of my own pocket, but it's a drop in the bucket. I keep my garage open all winter with food, blankets and water and all kinds of nice, warm nooks and crannies (no car in it). Any cat that gets into my hands and has no collar, or tattoo, and I don't know for certain it has an owner will end up at the vet to be scanned for a chip and then spayed/neutered and inoculated if no evidence of ownership is found. It's where most of my (supposed to be retirement fund) goes. LOL

the founder of CARE is actually an employee of Machray, though they are not affiliated (Machray however has done 253 spays/neuters this year for CARE though)

the kittens adopted to me from D'Arcy's were sick with FIP which isn't something to be tested for as it's a mutation of the corena virus- that being said one of the starting symptoms of FIP is an upper resp infection. I was profoundly disappointed in D'Arcy's because they adopted out this litter of deathly sick kittens and did no follow up with the owners to let them know the kittens were sick with this level of disease, that experience has kept me from ever adopting from D'Arcy's again.

Machray is a wonderful vet clinic (though far from me as I live in Osborne Village)- it's where we take our pyr and our cats. Cat advocacy in Winnipeg really has come a way into the news, but more still can be done. the core area is just a really awful situation and quite frankly a lot of it has to do with laziness and ignorance, as not all cats are born feral.

this is the C.A.R.E. facebook page (no actual webpage)
