I've noticed that everyone (mostly) has a cute/beautiful Pin-Up Name associated with them. How did you come up with the name? I would love to create one, but I would love to know how everyone came up with theirs (and taking suggestions for mine!)! Please share and discuss!!!

Cupcake Molly.

Don't know where it came from, but it just hit. Thought I'd throw it out there!

That's a good idea Jenn - or she could do Molly Cupcake.  Some PUG names have alliteration too - Capri Cupcake? Cupcake Capri?  Coco la Cupcake? or you could do a flavor?  Red Velvet?

lol... i think the choices are endless here...

it just struck me as i was re-reading her comment, and i thought i'd throw it out there. =)

have you found one you've decided to stick with yet, or still having trouble finding something that fits? by the way, for some bizarre reason, the thumbnail of your profile pic reminds me of snow white (not the movie, but the real version that walks around disney's theme parks). how's that for a name?

I haven't gotten one to stick yet.  Snow White is fun if I kept my hair dark LOL - I'm thinking its almost time to go red again.

Well where do I start? My birth name, my legal name is something that I do not post publicly. That has primarily to do with professional reasons. But my heritage is Irish and I wanted a name that reflected that. Aoife is Irish and is the equivalent of Eve. It is pronounced E- fuh kind of live Eva  but with an f sound instead of a v. Kenny is a variation of my legal last name. As I have gotten more and more into the retro/pin-up look I started thinking about adopting a pin up name. I have recently had a few pics of me taken in which I have been wearing gold outfits, and it got me to thinking. 24K carries on the gold theme and it is my last name's initial. So there you have it, Aoife 24K.

I was wondering about how you developed your name and how to pronounce it. Good backstory... very cool. I think I have 1/4 Irish in the bloodline somewhere (hence the red hair, blue eyes & freckles I was born with, then my son was born with, although for both of us, as we get older, our hair gets darker. It's why I should invest in clairol... keeps me in the red!), along with 1/4 Cherokee Indian and 1/2 German. The Irish I think is mixed with English as well... can you say mutt?? lol, like who isn't?

What could be a cute name for 'Jeanie'? I've always wanted a derby name too.. Even though I'm not in derby, sadly haha.

Have you tried singing the name song? "ana banana-fanna-fo-manna, fe-fi-fo-manna, ana!" (ok, it's been a long time, it goes something like that)...

Steaming Jeanie (I'm assuming it's pronounced like jeans with the y at the end)

Dreamy Jeanie

What do you like? like to do? hobbies? have one thing that you are KNOWN for?? those can help... I came up with Leanna's because she's planning on opening a cupcake shop eventually.

Fill us in and we'll help! Even if none of them stick (and I'm even thinking I should change mine because I'm kinda over it), we can throw out some ideas for ya!

Well, I really like to read and write. And I listen to oldies CONSTANTLY lol. Dreamy Jeanie.. I kind of like that. Kind of like I Dream of Jeannie.. But one 'n' :) And yes, its pronounced that way.

I havent been able to get online for awhile, sorry for the late reply lol.

This sounds fun! I need help too! Haven't been to a derby match (is that even what you call them?) But I used to LOOOVE to watch roller derby on tv when I was little and I've always professed that I was born in the wrong era since I prefer classier 40s-60s styles. I recently found out about derby events here in LA so I want to check it out soon. A little info. on me: I don't know how to skate so I'd have to learn, I love school (who says that?!), I'm a mental health therapist for children, I help my friends out with vintage style make-up/skincare/outfits in my free time, I love window shopping, I've always had pets (currently have Chunky da poodle and Tina da boxturtle), and I'm glued to a TV every fall because I'm watching football (I like the Cowboys n da hubbs likes the Steelers so we have our share of friendly battles). I'd be interested in any of your ideas!! Thanks!!

hey natalie!

let's see... you gave a lot to work with, so let me think on... btw, are you in the ladies of la group (under groups)? we're going to try a mini meet & greet  at the pug yardsale, and also, where did you find the info on the derby events - i'd love to go!

talk to you soon (hopefully with ideas!)!

jenn xoxo

Yes I joined the group but it's kind of hard to find my way around the site on my phone, still getting the hang of it. I'm down to meet up at the yardsale, I'll ask you for the details if I don't find my way back to that discussion, haha. And here are some links to check out: http://sfvrollerderby.com/ and http://derbydolls.com/la/
