I don't know how to start this discussion honestly. I'm always curious when I look through all your photos and read your bios. No one really talks about what they do for a living. I guess I wonder this because I work such an obscure job that I always imagine all the PUG enthusiasts are well known celebrities, or powerful business women because you are all so beautiful.

I work in the offshore oilfield, 6 months a year I'm offshore on a barge or a boat and usually there aren't many girls. I wear steel toe boots, a hardhat, and pants. I never wear makeup and my hair is always in a ponytail. The other 6 months out of my year, I'm usually in a dress with full makeup and my hair done.

So I guess what I'm asking is what do you guys do for a living?

I configure cisco routers for a telecom. I love it. We just moved into an office on the 12th floor downtown so there are tons of well dressed people in the building. I was feeling pretty shabby wearing only my laziest attire (baggy pants and baggier t-shirts) until I discovered PUG. Now everyday is a PUG day for me and I get compliments on my dresses and outfits all the time.

I work with mostly men on my side of the building. engineers, technicians etc. the only other women I work with are in HR, customer care, accounts etc. They always dress so business like. Even they love my new found fashion sense. it's very weird to feel so confident about my appearance. I never did until I discovered PUG and I've learned to really appreciate my curvy figure.

My boss has even taken to calling me "HIGH FASHIONS" but he means it in the best way and encourages me to keep on looking like the classiest cisco girl he's ever seen ^_^

I'm a certified baker trainer :) I work the 3rd shift which is 10pm -630am...I bake fresh bread and pastries all night long and I train new employees for about 5-6 weeks. We wear chef pants and a company tshirt, hat and when the store opens at 6am we get to wear our chef coat. So on my days off I try to wear as much pug as I can :)

Aside from my day job as a Graphic Designer (and mother of 3 of course!) I am also an airbrush artist. This is my most recent project down in the Lake of the Ozarks, MO, the 38+ ft long Ironman boat, themed after Marvel's Ironman character. It's grungy, usually hot & sweaty work but incredibly worth the payoff! Just the enormous scale of a boat valued well over $500K is mind boggling and I love the butterflies you get as you prepare to paint. It's big reveal is actually tonight at the Shootout on the Strip Street Party (part of the 24th annual shootout festivities including several competitions). You can see more pics and details on their facebook page at facebook.com/wavesandwheelsaudio. It took four separate 6hr trips down to complete my end of the project. It's tricked out with animatronics, 20,000 watts of heart pounding audio, everything custom, etc. Besides powerboats, I also airbrush for haunted attractions, 3D black light reactive murals to be exact. Some pics are on my website as it's difficult to explain, but done correctly it gives you a sense of floating in space with only the black lights on. And you'll have to excuse my website, when working on everything else I usually don't update mine much! None the less, that's what I've been blessed to do for a living! kellylynnecreative.com

OMG that is too freakishly awesome!

thanks! This is a great topic as I never really talk much about the work I do... I'm usually promoting other businesses. It's fun reading what careers other women are in around the world!

I've been very seriously looking into doing airbrushing, just having trouble with the upfront costs.  What do you useboth airbrush and compressor? I've been looking into the IWATA Eclipse HP-CS and one of the IWATA compressors.

Hi, I love the IWATA line as it was 2 of the 3 brushes I used on the Ironman boat. However, my all time go to brush has been the Pasche VL set, needle #3, 99% of the time for the past 20+ yrs. You can often order just the brush individually with the #3 needle instead of a boxed set for around $50 online and if at michaels (I believe) you can apply an online coupon to it. As for a compressor, the IWATA is very reliable but I've burned out 2 small ones (various brands) and just use a 2-5 gal oil one from menards. Quite often if it's a big project I'm able to just tie into a line at the shop I'm working in and only need to plug a moisture filter into my airline. If I were you I would get the pasche carded brush. Depending on whether the noise is a factor, i.e. in an apartment with neighbors, you can just go with a regular compressor from a hardware store with at least a 2 gal tank on it (the tank will allow you to just run off it vs constantly having the compressor feeding your brush). If noise is a factor then I'd go for a smaller quieter compressor. Those two options will get your start up costs down to $100 - $125 dep on sale prices. You can always add brushes to your tool box down the line :)  Hope that helps!, Kelly

I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist, and I LOVE my job! I get paid to help people feel better, what more could I ask for? I have an amazing boss, great coworkers, and I get to work and help lots of pregnant women (my favorite clients!)

This is such a great thread, it is so interesting reading about all the different careers everyone has!

I am the Audience Development Director for a professional theatre in New Zealand. Basically, I manage our social media (Facebook, Twitter, blog, Youtube), create the monthly newsletter, work in the box office, maintain the website, host groups at performances, organise group bookings, assist with marketing and publicity, and really do anything else that's needed in relation to our our audience. It is a great job and I totally love it. In fact, it often doesn't even feel like work! I also do freelance publicity work on occasion.

I wear PUG pretty much every day - working in a creative environment like a theatre, pretty much anything goes and I get a really great response from both the people I work with and the audience members about my style. :)

Thank you, Colettie! I do so love my life! My husband wouldn't let me off that pedestal if I tried and that's a good thing I have come to learn. What kind of bike did you have?

I really love reading what everybody else does! I am an active duty Air Force member stationed in Italy. I love my job, even though I don't really get much of a chance to dress as I'd like. I wear my uniform proudly, and my hair is almost always in a bun, even when I'm not at work. However, when I do get time off, I love to wear my PUG clothes and let my hair down. For a long time, I've battled with clothes that never really fit well, but my hourglass figure is complimented by the vintage clothes I've picked up the last couple of years and has really gotten me out of my shell. I am currently working on my degree in Emergency Management, and I may have the opportunity to take a position at the Pentagon in the near future!

I am so loving this thread.  I have been a RN for 22 years.  I have mostly worked in the ER and hemodialysis clinics.  Currently I work at a chronic pain treatment center that specializes in people with all types of pain.  I work on the side that writes the pain medications.  The other side of the facility does nerve blocks.  I am attempting to become a freelance writer and I am working on a book now.
