Spooky Boo-tique Party & Classic Disney Halloween Haunts

Every last Friday of the month, Pinup Girl Boutique hosts Ladies Night Out. This is where we stay open until 9pm, have food trucks, drinks and a DJ to entertain guests as they enjoy our make-up demos at the beauty bar and special store-wide savings.

Since everyone at Pinup are Halloween enthusiasts, we knew we needed to make our Ladies Night this month a Halloween theme. It was a total success! Everyone came dressed in their amazing costumes (most handmade!!!), we handed out candy to little trick-or-treaters and spooky tunes blared from the speakers. Later in the evening, we had a costume contest with prizes featuring a $100 gift certificate to the store and....LUX DE VILLE BAGS!!!!
Super fan Ali (left) made her wicked awesome costume. Doris and Micheline were an incredibly hot duo with Micheline as Bruce Timm's Poison Ivy from Batman: The Animated Series and Doris as a sexy harlequin. Or as we said, her own version of Harley Quinn from Batman. ;)

Model Erika Reno flew in as the BEST POWER GIRL EVER!!!!!

Now, since today is Halloween, I think it is time to go over a few of my absolute favorite classics. Yes, you should watch Michael, yes you should watch Jason and Freddy. But what about some ghoulishly delightful cartoons?

Yep, I'm talking Disney. Okay, truthfully I watch these cartoons year round, but to really get me in the Halloween mood during October, these are my favorites. Don't fear if you don't have these Disney collections in your home, you can definitely find these on YouTube!

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1958)

Although based on the novel, Disney keeps it both cute and creepy in this one. The film is narrated by Bing Crosby (Yes, BING CROSBY) and there are even several tunes he sings in this. Personally, I love the 'Headless Horseman' song sung during the towns Halloween party.

Trick or Treat (1952)

Love, LOVE...LOVEEEEE this one. Uncle Donald Duck is a big grump in this story, giving out tricks to children instead of treats. Nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie end up meeting Witch Hazel, who decides to teach Donald a thing or two.

The Skeleton Dance (1929)

From Disney's Silly Symphony, this is definitely a classic. PLEASE check it out when you can. The music is awesome as are the dance routines, of course!

And some of my other favorites...

The Haunted House (1929)

Lonesome Ghosts (1937)

Night on Bald Mountain - Fantasia (1940)

Happy Halloween from the Pinup Girl BOO-tique staff!!!

So, we have Slash, Ivy, Harley, Wednesday, Thief, Marian and Zombie?  Amazing job, ladies!  Especially love the Marian.

I did not even recognize Stephanie when she came in dressed as Slash. :)
