Unleashing Your Inner Silver Screen Siren.

I've always watched old films and fawned over the elegant and sultry frocks that the seductresses and the femme fatales don. The rich, luxurious materials; the temptress laces and the silky satins. So, when Micheline Pitt released a dress like the Film Noir as part of her Deadly Dames line - you can just imagine how many beats my heart skipped and how much my girlhood was trembling.

Of course, I jumped all over this dress like it was Cary Grant - I needed it on my body (*wink*). I snagged the Film Noir in the rusty rose colorway and I immediately fell in love with the lush, soft velvet and the intricate detail that went into the dress. The cowl that drapes along the neck is absolutely stunning. On smaller busts, it accentuates and enhances to create the illusion of a bigger bust - which is great if you aren't as well-endowed and want to play that area up (like me)! I've noticed that on larger busts that the drapery is ultra flattering and and draws attention in the best way possible way; e.g. without stealing the attention of the entire frock.

Now, onto the ruching and shirring on the body: I can't even begin to fathom thinking of all the words I could use to describe how amazing this detail is. The way the material gathers and flows across your body is insanely flattering. It accentuates your curves, hides any imperfections makes you feel just like Lauren Bacall or Barbara Stanwyck. Not to mention that this dress will literally be THE MOST COMFORTABLE, GLAMOUROUS DRESS EVER TO GRACE YOUR BODY. I'm not jesting. You will be amazed and bewildered by just how comfortable, rich and luxurious the Film Noir is.

So, once I had my Film Noir - my attention quickly drew to the Pinup Couture Greta dress, which is just oozing with sultry sex-appeal and classy mystery. The Greta looks like a faux-wrap dress, with stunning shirring and draping of fabric along the bodice. The material is eye-catching and sumptuous. It feels very silky and extravagant on your body. The Greta has a great amount of stretch and is very bust-enhancing and the shirred bodice makes your waist look the size of a thumb. I couldn't believe how beautiful and sexy I felt in it - I received endless compliments on the dress and how gorgeous the material was. The Film Noir and the Greta are both the most comfortable dresses I've had the pleasure of owning.

Over the Summer, I had the opportunity of doing a photo-shoot with a local photographer (Trent Ernst of Eye For Detail Photography). We both agreed that it would be interesting to go for a 40's old-Hollywood femme fatale vibe. Naturally, I incorporated the Film Noir and the Greta and the outcome was stunning. Both dresses enhanced the vintage appeal immensely.

Unfortunately, I lost some weight and the majority of my dresses became too roomy (which was brutal and torturous for me to endure, as my dresses are like my children). I decided to part with a lot of them, what with the stunning new dresses being released by PUG as of late. I found out that one of my friends and fellow PUG fans was looking to trade her L emerald green for an XL rusty rose. PERFECTION. I am even more in love with the alluring and enchanting deep green velvet than I was with the rusty rose. I am 38-30-44 and while my hips are two inches bigger than the maximum hip measurement of the L - it fit PERFECTLY, like a glove! Pairing my red hair with the emerald green, I feel like Poison Ivy!

VERDICT: If you want to feel like a 40's femme fatale that just stepped off the set of a film noir, the Deadly Dames Film Noir and the Pinup Couture Greta dresses were made for you!

You are gorgeous!  These dresses look lovely on you.  I have always turned away from velvet, but your review makes me want to rethink it! Perfection.

I was wary of velvet at first thought, too - but don't let that hold you back! The material is super stretchy, soft and comfortable. It is so flattering and hides any imperfections or trouble areas. I think it would look absolutely faaab on you. Especially the emerald or the black against your skintone and vampy hair! <3

Wow, your photos are....wow :) I have a feeling you could cause some trouble in the streets with car accidents what with everyone checking you out ;) I had the Greta in black at one time as well, but didn't get much wear from it personally, so I traded it in the swap/sell thread for more PUG cash. Haven't payed much attention to the Film Noir dress before, but it looks pretty amazing on your curviness. *sighs* I need more funds for clothes. lol

Aww, thanks so much, Brandi! The Greta was my go-to dress for going out on weekends and whatnot. It's a little roomy on me now, but I'm going to get it tailored because I love it too much to let it go! And I totally know what you mean - I recently just cleaning out my entire closet and I'm beginning to rebuild my wardrobe. Starting with the emerald Film Noir and the plum Masuimi! I always joke about harvesting my organs and selling them so that I can fuel my addiction (but I'm not actually joking. I probably would.). ;)

YES! I LOVE the film noir dress! It is seriously amazing! I will probably wear it for the Christmas season! I love all of your pictures! You look so pretty! =o)  P.S. Cary Grant, on my body...I think, YES! #winning. I will totally think about that every time I wear it, too! haha!
